feeding wire from stern to fuse panel (272 sailfish)

Thanks everyone. After many failed attempts, using a 0' length of 1/4" pvc tube proved to work the great. Thanks for the tip. The tubes are big but tough to snake wire through. I installed a bilge alarm and it worked great! Thanks, David

feeding wire from stern to fuse panel (272 sailfish)

I need to run a wire from stern bilge area to just under steering wheel area. Anyone have any idea how to do this or how easy it is. Assume there is a pipe to feed through but just don't know how to start the process. David

That is a great IDEA! Thanks for letting me/us know about that. I'm going to do the same on my boat.

    Marlin Helm Seat

John - I have a 2000 sailfish and the seats must be the same cause mine has always rocked a bit plus it slides back while under way. Any Grady dealer will have the plastic replacement parts - shouldn't be much $. I replaced my slider last year and the seat still slides back when we hit a bump...

    Boat Graphics

I used a local graphics person 10 years ago and the letters have lasted 10 years so far. Make sure you ask for the thicker graphics as they usually last 8-10 years.

    Boat Vibration

Thanks everyone. I will check the vibration more this weekend. George - Not sure on the hours but they are probably close to or more than yours. I fish offshore 7-12 times per season (40-60 mile runs). Props are stainless 17's.

    Boat Vibration

GEO - My engines are what you have -- 2000 Yamaha 225 OX66 - 2000 sailfish. It seems to happen when engaging both engines and it does drive me crazy cause it shakes the entire boat from bow to stern. I can usually adjust one of the engines up or down to get it to stop or lessen. No problem at...

    SCUPPERS ON SAILFISH

When you hear back from Grady, please let me know. My brother has one of those camera scopes and I was able to inspect the hoses. Also, my arms are long so I can reach them. However, changing them would probably be tough. Thanks!

    Boat Vibration

When trolling or cruising at slow speed (10-12 RPMs), my 2000 sailfish shakes from bow to stern. The port engine (F225 OX2 - 2000) seems to be the one vibrating and noticed the problem a few years ago. Had props checked and they were fine. Anyone have any ideas here?

    Pink discoloration on vinyl

I believe the pink stains are caused by some sort of mold that grows under the vinyl. I have seen this in showers before and cleans up easily with a mildew remover. Try some vinegar and water first. I did see this mentioned on the Grady-White Boats web site a few years back but could not find...

replacing deck/ hatch over main tank

I had mine done by a fiberglass guy (2000 Grady 272) last Summer. Cost me a few hundred dollars and the guy took all the wood out and replaced with an epoxy. Stronger then ever and was light! Located in Ocean City MD.

    Sailfish Fuel Tanks

Have a 2000 sailfish and have done this a few times a year. Every year or two, I take the deck plate off and was the tanks down with soak and let them dry. Mine seem to be in good shape.

    A Grady-White lemon?

When I purchased my Sailfish in 2000, the boat bilge area was not sealed properly and there was wood exposed. The delivery guy noticed this also and arranged to have a fiberglass person fix the problem. As far as I know, it was fixed properly although it isn't as smooth as you will find in...

questions re: switching from ethanol to non-ethanol fuel

My local marina (Ocean Pines) has switched to non-ethanol fuel. My tanks are full from the fall. Do I need to run the tanks dry before I switch to the non-ethanol fuel? The grady-white corporate site says not to mix the two. Why? Is a little mixing ok?
