    Fisher panda overheating while underway

Sounds like the builder placed the pickup too far forward. Either put a scoop type pickup on or relocate pickup to solid water area.

    Seafarer Grady bracket

As a last resort you could use a hole saw to cut that one out and install the next bigger size.

    Seafarer Grady bracket

If the builder used a simple garboard drain plug, like the link, or similar, can you remove the whole unit and replace it...

    Prop Change on "16" Yami 150 ??

Oh, I see. When you remove the thrust washer from the prop you have been running and it won't fit the other prop that you want to use then it is the wrong prop for the motor.

    Prop Change on "16" Yami 150 ??

You didn't say what brand or HP the motor is. Most of the props I have used have a removable washer on the rear of the prop under the prop nut and flat washer. It may be a simple matter of switching the washers. Us a large screwdriver and pry the washers out and install the proper one on the...

    Realistic hull draft

I have found a good rule of thumb is pull a string across the transom at the bottom of the stern deck drain thru-hulls and measure from the string down to the keel. Most boats float with the water near the bottom of those drains.

    2000 26ft grady

I think what Dennis meant to say (correct me if I'm wrong Dennis) is to make sure the tabs are completely retracted, and that is very good advice till you get this figured out. It sounds to me like "bow steer" is causing your listing. It may list quite dramatically depending on loading. A bow...

Work day - update and need help

That's the seacock valve and remote operator. It has nothing to do with the cooling water for your engines. They get their water from the pump in the lower unit. Remove the engine cowl and follow the rubber hose back from the pee fitting, removing the rubber hose at each connection. Shooting...

Garmin Autopilot on GW 257 Advance

What works better than valves on the hose to pump connections are Parker quick -couplers. Parker makes them in bronze. These are on my pump now. The male end goes on the hoses so when you uncouple them it seals the flow and disconnects the lines in one quick motion.

Yamaha Square Speed/Fuel Gauge - LCD display data hard to read

The washed out look would make me think that it had been burned out by sun exposure but the speed read-out and fuel bars are perfectly formed so that, along with the fact that it is a newer gauge leads me to think that it is a defective gauge.

    Adding Oil to Trim Motor

"needs a little nudge to get it all the way up to engage the towing brace". If, by this, you mean the safety prop built into the transom clamp of the motor, that is not a towing brace. It is intended as a safety latch to be used while working around and under the engine. It is not designed...

    Broken thru hull

I agree with Dennis. It's hard to understand why Grady would not install a real tri-flange seacock as standard instead of the cheesy inline valve screwed onto a threaded thru-hull. The wall thickness of the thru-hull tube is very thin at the bottom of the threads and it is subjected to the...

    Cup holder covers???

Why not make your own using Starboard. Use 2 hole saws...One for the top piece to overlap the cupholder and another smaller one to fit into the cupholder for alignment and prevent it from sliding off. Put screws up through the smaller bottom piece into but not through the top piece. If you...

    Oil Dipstick Length Question

You said you bought the boat used so depending on clearances, a previous owner could have installed a high volume oil pan or as mentioned could have replaced the dipstick tube with one that doesn't match the stick. The defining mark on the stick must indicate full at a point below the lowest...

    The Mud Daubers are coming!

As the weather warms those pesky mud daubers start getting active down here in the South. I have dealt with the headaches those little devils deal out for a long time and have learned to be a little pro-active. You can never be completely unaffected by them but if your boats going to be sitting...
