    Flushing a 4.2L Yamaha

Awhile back, I repowered with the 4.2L with the dual water inlet. I miss being able to flush with muffs. I know Yamaha says the hose fitting does a good job but it doesn't give me the warm & fuzzy feeling I get from flushing on the muffs. Has anyone figured out how to do it.

    New GW Freedom 335

capeman, I know this must be an exciting time getting this pretty girl all dressed up. Once you get her home and she is ready to use we can all help you with a lot of the really important things like using just a dab of 4200 to hold a neodymium magnet just the right distance below the beer...

    Yamaha engine question

The guys that rigged this engine used the Grady recommendation of hole #2 mounting position. You can see on the bulletin above, three lines down from HP is mounting hole position they used for the test.

    Towing a 282 Sailfish

The article you are wanting the OP to read about how to calculate tongue weight on a boat trailer is completely haywire. She obviously read somewhere about how to do this but didn't fully understand it. After explaining how to set up the scale and apparatus, she failed to mention just where...

    Towing a 282 Sailfish

Russ, I'm not sure if you used the term "electric brakes" just for brevity or if you are not fully understanding what folks are talking about. IF that trailer has surge type, disc brakes now, you do not need to change your brakes on the trailer but merely add the electric actuator onto the...

    AutoPilot upgrade from manual hydraulic

Skunk, That is some pump! I have had problems in the past when mounting AP pumps with them transferring a harmonic humming sound that can be bothersome while trolling especially while the pump is very busy at low speed and the noise level of the boat is down. The small rubber grommets in the...

I think you are right. I also just found this by Grady White. This is my boat model. I was surprised at the prop diameter.

    New GW Freedom 335

If it were me, while the boat is being rigged and outfitted, I would request high water alarms in all independent compartments with indicators. My brand of choice would be WEMA.

Why the change in 2004-2005 Islander?

Russ, Don't waste your money on airshocks. Put those bucks toward Firestone airbags and you got the real deal.

    Towing a 282 Sailfish

You should have a minimum of 10% of the total weight for a tongue weight. 15% is good if your rig can handle it. The good thing about a boat, it is easy to shift some stuff around to get more or less weight on the truck. Like...forward tank full and aft tank empty or the opposite. All ice...

    Yamaha engine question

That's good to hear Legend, That's the same RPMs I'm seeing with the 19s. So maybe this thing is cranking out what it is supposed to. I will move on and drop a couple inches of pitch and maybe drop an inch in diameter. I can get a really good deal on a Power Tech 14 1/4 X 18 no cup. Do you...

    Yamaha engine question

I have a service manual but under the rigging section it only explains how to install the end of the cable housing in the clip and how to unscrew the clevice until it will slide onto the throttle pin. As you can see, item #9 simply states "check the throttle cable for proper operation" with no...
