    Boat Trailers: Bunk vs Roller

The only way I would ever want a roller trailer is when ramps are shallow requiring significant winching to pull the boat onto the trailer. Otherwise, you couldn't give me one. Yes, I've had both.

    Gulfstream e-tec 300 G2 performance

Good to know an early production, updated engine can be reliable.

Impressive numbers! Great write-up too. 2016 engine?

    Repower Voyager 248

Looks like something is out of whack from what you describe. A 3.5 litre should be able to do better.

    Repower Voyager 248

225 ox66. No power issues until I have a full tank, and 6-7 people on board. I can still get on plane, but it is slower. 2 people and 1/3 tank of fuel I can hit 44 mph GPS verified. Considering the displacement, I'm surprised your Honda isn't enough, unless you are loaded heavily regularly.

    Repower Voyager 248

We have the same boat, are kicking around the idea of a repower, but haven't. Ours has a single, but doesn't have a hard top. As it is, I dont care for the running angle of the boat with 2 adults in the aft seat, but forward ballast has helped. I know the boat was designed for twins, and I too...

    225ox 66 1999 year

If any of you have photos of what typical would look like, please share. I might be replacing this engine for a used, but much newer one. I need to know what I should expect.

    225ox 66 1999 year

I appreciate the comment because I had no idea what good looked like! I just change out the thermostats a month or so ago. To the best of my knowledge they were original. Off the top of my head the engine has roughly 500 hours. Never flushed since we have owned it because it hasn't seen salt...

    208 Adventure Weight Questions

If the boat looks too low in the back, have someone take a seat on the bow and check the back again. You'd be surprised how much 50-100 lbs of ballast in the front cabin compartment can do for ride and how the boat sits at rest.

    I don't understand

Every design is a compromise. We have to choose what compromise we can live with. Hey look, Key West had a new low cost cc! :p

    I don't understand

Smokey, get your facts straight. It isn't $80k, it's $590/month till, uh... umm - doesn't matter, because I got me a boat! If it it weren't for the crazy loan terms, this industry would look a lot different. Skunk, I'm not a fan of cc's for many of the reasons you mentioned, but I thought I...

270 Islander in the Naples/Marco area?

If you weren't 3 hours round trip from me, I'd take you up on that! More like if I didn't have to tell my wife that I plan on driving 3 hours to drink beer, I would take you up on that!! Thanks for the offer Brian! If you happen to be heading this way this week, let me know... other than Thursday.

What Year did GW stop using wood

Call customer service. 98 is when they went to green board which is still wood, but very rot resistant. All composite was around 13 or so. Again, call CS and report back.

Finding someone to build a dang hard top is a pita

I think the best option is to sell it to me and go buy one with a factory hardtop! ;)

I'm jealous. I looked hard at that boat. It was almost exactly what I was looking for. Timing and the almost kept me away. Congrats and good luck.

270 Islander in the Naples/Marco area?

No apology needed! You have been a wealth of info on the Islander for me and many others. A walk through and ride would be icing on the cake. Thank you for your contribution!

270 Islander in the Naples/Marco area?

Much appreciated Gents. I get down to Dallas regularly for work, but not much further. Unfortunately I have no trips planned for MA this year. If anything changes, I'll be sure to let you know. Thanks for the offers.

270 Islander in the Naples/Marco area?

Anyone on here with a 270 in the Marco/Naples area willing to let me pay for a ride? I've been on the hunt for years trying to find the right 270 to potentially replace our 248. In the event I find one, I had hoped to see the layout in person before hand and see how it performed... and possibly...
