Does the Yamaha Speed gauge accept two fuel tanks?

Think about starting a new post or retitling this one with the work you are doing. The gelcoat looks awesome and I am sure a lot of others will think so also!

Bow Lifting Eye on Advance or Journey 257?

Ended up picking up a project boat this past week (not what I was looking for but couldn't pass with the price) with the lifting eye like my old Offshore. I grabbed a few photos for you. Not sure how and if anything changed, this is a 1991 Seafarer with a Bracket. If you need any different...

Bow Lifting Eye on Advance or Journey 257?

I remember my 24' Offshore had one. I believe there is metal rod going from the bottom of the lifting eye to the backside of the front eye. I always thought that was still a lot of weight there, but I would imagine it must be correctly engineered. It would be interesting to see one lifted...

    272 sailfish

I wish I were seeing some of these numbers on my boat. 1999 with the extended running surface, twin OX66's 225's. I cruise around 3800-4000 rpm and see 1.25mpg at 27mph. That's with half to full tanks and usually 4 people minimum trimmed to the third or fourth bar on the gauge depending on...

    1988 Tournament 19 story

Wish you were close to Massachusetts. I would be very interested in the hull and trailer, just way too far away. I was thinking on going to look at a 1987 19' Tournament about 90min from me with a 1994 OceanRunner 200hp and a 2010 tandem axle trailer. Asking $4200 but said he would do $3800...

    Looking at 05 282 sailfish

Just a thought, but I would call Grady and ask to speak with someone about the structural components of the transom. I am not saying this is not a big deal, but it might not be all that bad either. When I was looking for my 272 Sailfish the first one I looked at I saw that caulking line in the...

yamaha ox66 water not reaching top of block

The very first water pump I did on one of my first yamaha's I replaced the water pump and housing. I forgot to take the pickup tube gasket and retainer out of the old housing and put it on the new one. This caused an overheat similar to what you are experiencing.

    Fluctuation in RPM's

I was fighting some of the same issues as you last year. I did all of the cheaper and easy stuff first like the VST and all of the filters. What mine ended up being was the O2 sensor. It was the most expensive so I did all of the filters first.

    280 marlin

No affiliation, but might be of interest if not for the boat but for the setup since you are looking to do something similar. http://www.thehulltruth.com/boats-sale- ... mahas.html

    Yamaha Trim Tilt Seal Removal

I decided to tackle the seals on both trim tilt units. Out of the 6 seals, 3 were leaking. 2 were obviously replaced by previous owner and one looked fine. I decided to only go after the ones that needed attention in case this did not go well. I watched all the youtube videos and methods...

    !997 OX66 250 Stator question

I would really triple check the fuel system before you replace the stator. There is a filter on the fuel pressure regulator that if clogged or obstructed can cause increased fuel pressures. I know the motor drops cylinders when at idle and warmed up which might make it look like not all...

    Grady Warranty 1999 Sailfish

Thanks for the info, this is what I was planning on doing as well after talking to a friend of mine who has some experience in this field. I do not think Grady would really do anything, but was shocked they would let something like this go unnoticed from the factory. I plan on working on it...

    Grady Warranty 1999 Sailfish

I did hear back from Grady and they pretty much said they were not aware of any problems. My father was near the boat today and took some photos I sent to Grady. It almost looks like they did not gelcoat the bottom of the lip, or they did and then it got cut or sanded off. Seems like a defect...

    Grady Warranty 1999 Sailfish

Thanks, I did send Grady a request with the HIN. I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with replacement hatches etc so I could reference past practice should it be needed.

    Grady Warranty 1999 Sailfish

As I was browsing THT I noticed an ad for a 1997 Marlin for sale (not that I am looking, but its fun anyways!). It may be a members boat here, not sure. What caught my eye is that the original owner of that boat had the hardtop replaced for free from Grady in 2010 for chipping and peeling of...

    270 islander trailer owners

I went with the 8725 aluminum bunk with front target bunks. The local Grady dealer recommended that model, it has a carrying capacity of 8,725. I only trailer a few miles a few times a year to the ramp for my mooring. If I was doing more trailering I think I would have went with a tri axel. The...

    270 islander trailer owners

When I setup my new Venture trailer the bunks were set wide as possible which worked out good. The bigger problem I had was positioning the axels and how far to put the boat up in the trailer to have a properly balanced load. I had to move the axels all the way forward and the bunks ended where...

    Deep in 84 Grady rebuild

The easiest way to share a high volume of photos may be to share the link to the entire album. To select some photos to inbed go the photo itself in photobucket and on the right side there should be 4 different codes. Copy the IMG and paste it here and when you select preview post the photo...
