    The Walk Around Cuddy R.I.P.

235 Freedom has a pretty nice head, in a closed compartment. Not sitting in the middle of the vee berth, where you probably have to move a bunch of stuff to use it, on my Seafarer. https://www.gradywhite.com/models/dual-consoles/freedom-235/

2019 Freedom 275-Bennett Trim Tab indicator issue

I don't understand the logic, but one thing Tabman used to emphasize was that all the screws on the back of the switches needed to be in place, and tight, even if they had no wires connected to them.

    The Walk Around Cuddy R.I.P.

For people moving up to a Seafarer, maybe it is the perfect boat. For those down sizing, it is very tight. Maneuvering around the helm seats is like 2 people trying to change clothes in an airplane bathroom. And turning around to back into the cabin is not a selling point for most. And we are...

    downrigger ball cradle?

Those Rhylick linked can be used for storage, but they were meant to be screwed to the top of the gunnel, next to the downrigger, and the ball was placed there between drops, to keep it from banging the side of the boat. Back in the day, most release clips were attached to the ball, before the...

    Garmin Training

Couple years ago I was getting email invitations to live Garmin tutorials, that you had to sign up for. But then afterwards, they would put them on YouTube, and they are probably still there. Just checked, there are a bunch there, everything from watches to airplanes to boat electronics, so put...

    downrigger ball cradle?

Keep an eye out for delivery trucks, and ask the driver. Any soda distributor will have a pile of cracked, or otherwise unusable crates. I think I googled the same thing, but then I click on images, and you can sort of zoom in on what you’re looking for, and weed out the rest. Open this...

Get one of those plastic soda crates, made for 2 liter bottles, that are about 5 inches high. put that on the towel, or put silicone bumpers on the bottom.

    Downrigger placement

If fishing Z-wings, a short arm on the downrigger greatly reduces pressure on the mount, if you can clear the side or stern of the boat.

Swivel Rod Holder Help UPDATE with Pics

The only real solution I see, is to use a sleeve as high up on the rod holder tube as it will go, and attach it to the deck with a flange, sort of like a davit mount. That should take care of twist, but if the whole side of the boat then bows out under pressure, ???

Swivel Rod Holder Help UPDATE with Pics

Backing the cut-out reinforces the pivot point, but doesn't really change it much. I would try a block of wood between the rod holder tube, and the lowest point of the gunnel, right behind that brown trim band. If that helps, cut a square that fills the space, with a snug hole in it for the...
