"An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure", applies to boat decks. Get them in good shape, and treat regularly with Woody Wax, Star Brite deck treatment, etc. Use your washdown, and your brush, all day. Letting blood dry, and trying to clean it back at the dock is just making more work.

I wonder if they raised the deck, when they raised the scuppers. They were close to horizontal as it was.

Bill, I also think that #3 is what you have, it was the first of the three I listed above. But, you seemed sure that you had a 10 gallon holding tank below deck, and who was I to say that you didn't, but option #3 does not. You don't have to separate the toilet to check the contents in the tank...

Sorry for the confusion. The black hatch was on my '93 Tournament 22, but no pics of the process. The 'glass' is a thick piece of opaque plastic, HDPE I believe, that I had lying around, and used for the hatch on the Seafarer, with the same windlass.

I thought all Gradys came with flappers in the scuppers, are you sure this one does not have them already? Luckydude has a 250 Yamaha on his west coast Seafarer. He can chime in on how dry the cockpit is. I thought the limit went to 300, before they discontinued the model this year.

Capt. Bill, the picture that you are showing is not the system that you are describing for your boat. That is the old Sanipotty/Dometic 964. Refer to the picture of the back of the holding tank in the link below. I just replaced that same porta potty/MSD in my Seafarer with the newer model 976...

A porta potty has its own built-in holding tank, which does not gravity drain. How does your current set up get the waste from the Porta potty to the holding tank, and where is the holding tank located? I was thinking vee berth, then realized this must be under the passenger side dash console...
