Bimini top for 95 Tournament 223

A good starting point is deciding where the biminis will be stored when not in use, flat, upright, flat,etc.. https://www.google.com/search?q=forward%20boat%20Bimini%20top&tbm=isch

    Windlass on 1998 Bimini 306

I made the black hatch, cutting a piece of starboard 1/4 inch larger than my hatch, clamping the two together, and going around the edge with a router and an edge trimming bit. It was supposed to be a template, but I used it for years, until I sold the boat this spring, and put the old original...

    Windlass on 1998 Bimini 306

This worked great on my tournament 22. I would rather have it than the pulpit on my current 228.

    Horn replacement

I have one of those, and yes it is loud. Problem is, the sound comes out a few inches from the user’s ear, and deafens you after one or two blasts. Being able to hear fog signals it’s just as important as sending them. Another plus for the modern VHF radio, with loud hailer, which not only...

Custom rocket launchers for the hardtop?

Lucky, thanks for that update. Ask her for all of us, how far does the coring extend, or how far does it stop from the edges. What kind of core did they use? If your bolts go through the core, you need extra precautions, to avoid water intrusion.

Custom rocket launchers for the hardtop?

I can see why they would not be, if replacing an existing, and needing the holes to line up by marking from underneath. I don't see a downside to pre-drilled, if new installation, but I'm open to reasons why not. The plates are already welded in place, so it's not like you are trying to avoid...

Custom rocket launchers for the hardtop?

I did not know that Grady used a metal top, so I withdraw my advice on the installation.

Custom rocket launchers for the hardtop?

Lucky, I would have Glen make me some 1/4 aluminum backing plates to spread the load, washers are not big enough on that cored top. Pre-drilled to match the top pads. I assume MLangley is replacing an original, and using the existing holes, since his is not drilled. (edit) I edited out some...

Update: Leak in Head Discharge Line. West Marine Recommends Replacement with More Flexible Line

There are 2 vented loops in the system, 3/4" on the overboard discharge of the holding tank, and 1 1/2" beside the toilet, where his problem is.

Update: Leak in Head Discharge Line. West Marine Recommends Replacement with More Flexible Line

It's pretty clear that the leak is behind the bulkhead, in the 1 1/2" hose between the toilet and the vented loop, if it's running back down that hose, through the bulkhead . Let's don't get hung up on semantics, on what to call that hose. I would get in touch with GW tomorrow, and try to...

    Propeller question

Call a few prop shops, and ask how soon they can do it. That will tell you if hubs are available, or scarce. True or false, I can't say, but I heard many years ago that honey was used as a lube for pressing hubs.

    Dome light switch fix help

I think that the smaller the screwdriver, the more you concentrate the pressure on one point, and increase the likelihood of a crack. My theory would be to spread the load.

    Prostatic

Reminds me of the old Richard Pryor joke. two guys are pissing off a dock, one from California says, “this water sure is cold“. One from Arkansas says, “yeah, and it’s deep too”.

Custom rocket launchers for the hardtop?

KY, the original ones up top are probably a little more vertical than 45°. They are useless for anything other than rod storage. The clamp on’s are probably 15 to 20°. I troll from them, with a rod holder bungee. They look low, but you pretty much have to be seated to be underneath them, and the...

Custom rocket launchers for the hardtop?

KY, I think you could go more than 4 + 2, if you wanted. The angled ones can be very close to the outside verticals, b/c the reels never get close to each other. In my pic in post #5, I have 5 vertical, with the two clamp ons, and the factory spacing could have easily been closer. I did the same...

    Yamaha shutdown while underway

Don't forget to replace the spare, or two! I had the same thing happen a few years ago, and up until then, I was not even aware of the fuses under the cowling. It would be nice if the manufacturers could group them under a little access door, it's a PIA to take the cowling off in a choppy sea...

    Garmin Fish Mapping by Sirius

Thanks for the info. Question? If you scroll down these thumbnail shots, some will be only a few minutes apart, between the right and left columns, but the colorization will dramatically different. Any explanation for that? ie: Aug. 14 from 12:25 to 12:35 Aug. 13 from 00:14 to 00:19...
