New owner of 2000 tournament 192

Watch out for? Yes - your destination... with a 200HP on that boat you're going to get there awful fast! :) How does the transom check out? Specifically the "bang cap" area (google that and/or search on this forum for that). This is about water intrusion into the transom wood core. This is...

    Gas Smell

You mentioned you replaced the sending unit gasket but didn't specify if the smell is persisting? It's unlikely the tank is leaking but also easy enough to verify by pressurizing it with a couple pounds of air. Rub your hands on the tank's hoses and then smell your hands.

    Good Electrical Lesson Learned

Just an interesting point... Deka is contracted by Duracell to "sticker" some of Deka's batteries with the Duracell sticker. I'm not sure if Duracell contracts with other manufacturers, but Hook, if you have a "Deka" Duracell, that's a GOOD thing!

    While we are on batteries.......

Small point of clarification... there's no ground on a battery selector switch :) But the premise of a loose stud/ or connector holds true. It's pretty rare for a battery switch to fail but, yes, it does happen.

    While we are on batteries.......

Batteries aren't the issue. But it could be either the battery switch, the ignition switch or even the starter.

    Good Electrical Lesson Learned

See the post directly before yours! You'd have to check the specs on your charger, but it should be charging individually. But that's not the issue. It's when you're off the charger that it matters.

    Good Electrical Lesson Learned

If the two batteries are part of one "bank" (in parallel) then definitely replace as a set. If they're separate then it's not anywhere near as important

    192 Repower Question

Tohatsu has been around for many, many decades. They were initially produced for the fisherman of Japan as a "get it done" kind of engine with no frills. For a while some of the smaller Mercs were using Tohatsu engines blocks. I wouldn't hesitate to use one. It's not going to eliminate your...

    Live Bait Wel

Hello and welcome aboard the Grady forum. Can you clarify what you're asking? I'm not sure what you mean.

    Thru hull transducer mounting

I do not know. But it seems like a good question for the dealer you are buying the boat from? Especially since it's a brand new boat, there's always a chance that things like this could be changed from one year to the next. Either way, once you have the boat you can check and then get the...

    265 Express Fuel line replacement

It's a good idea to pull the floor hatch, anyways. Along the lines of what you're thinking about the hoses it's also a REALLY good idea to check the condition of the tank.

    Ebay Storage Cover Review

Yeah, I can't say why your boat got dirty with the shrink wrap - but it is what is and your experience is your experience! :) Blocks/grass... got it. Yup, you'll be good.

    Slow Fueling

I mentioned attaching a new hose to the vent, albeit I only focused on "spitting" fuel. Absolutely - I agree - use the hose to eliminate fuel vapors which are a very real thing. Route the hose over the gunwale.

    Slow Fueling

Blowing out with compressed air may not prove anything. Compressed air will easily bypass a partial blockage. If the vent line has a dip in it, compressed air may not eliminate any standing fuel in the low spot as it may drain right back. Remove the vent hose from the tank. Does it fill...

Shore power distribution on 306 Canyon

OK, good, that helps. If you didn't see it, take note to the reference about boat "romex" The main breaker (not necessarily the breaker "panel") should be very close to the shore power inlet. I could help with the location... if I was there on the boat with you... but it's a little hard from...

    Loose steering wheel

I don't have the answer.... but call Dometic and talk to them. They'll know if a part can be repalced (nad will know exactly what you need) or if you have to replace the entire unit. Have as much info about your system (and pics) available as you can.

Shore power distribution on 306 Canyon

If I may, and please don't take offense, but from what you've written it sounds like you're new to wiring? "Electronics" don't get shore power... they are 12V items and get their power from the 12V distribution block/breakers/fuses. Your battery charger simply keeps the batteries charged when...

    Fishfinder chart plotter

Well, I certainly wouldn't pick a Samrad. I might pick a Simrad, though :) But like Hook said, there's a lot more to it. Both are fine units - Look at comparable units from both and see which one YOU like better. IF you want, consider cost vs features. This is really quite a personal...

    Fish box latch

Welcome aboard, Sunny :) That part number is a Grady part number. While you may find it by googling, your best bet would be to simply contact your local GW dealer (or any dealer, for that matter... but it's nice to keep your money local) and they can get it for you. However, it is not a part...
