    I Need Help...

Minimum 150 HP. If it’s a 2 stroke outboard that will provide some added power vs 4 stroke. If you can find a 175 or 200 you wouldn’t regret it. Repower with an I/O would probably be a little easier but I’d suggest the bracket and outboard route… would probably provide for a better resale for...

How To Remove Gas End of Season

You don’t need a motorized siphon at over $100. You need gravity on your side. Just Shake & Let Gas Flow EZ Siphon Hose https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BNTZD54/ref=cm_sw_r_awdo_navT_a_6AFM9KSN0C8K268VBQ3E

    Roughest Seas You’ve Endured - Seafarer 228?

When we talk 6-10’ are you saying from the lowest point to the highest point? My understanding is that 3’ swells go up 3’ AND down 3’ (so a total of 6’ up and down).

    2017 Marlin?

I admire your determination Lucky. The only advice I can offer as an accountant is think through the budget thoroughly. Dual engines will be twice the maintenance cost. Fuel cost will increase substantially. Slip fees are significant as you know (but of course allows convenience). Insurance will...

    Freedom 285 deck screw

Take out the screw. Fill with some thickened epoxy. Let dry. Drill pilot hole (put some wraps of electrical tape on the drill bit to desired depth for your screw) and rescrew. Or get a wider screw of the same length. I don’t think the flex is solely due to the screw though, that’s the effect not...

    Hull / Gelcoat Damage?

If you are up for a winter project, have the space to work, and the tools and willpower, and help from your son, you can fix it. If you plan on paying someone else for the repair, sell it, the cost will not be recovered. Your engine is the most value of the package. The hull without the damage...

    Bow Pulpit is Finally Here.

I’d ask Grady. The 5200 is probably to glue the pulpit down. Based on what the other guys said, the 1000 is probably for the bolts/ holes and the 1700 is probably for making a seal around the edge (can use a popsicle stick to create a nice clean fillet around the edge). But again I’d go direct...

    Keel rash- thoughts?

Agree, use an epoxy barrier coat/primer. Get it as smooth as you can. Interlux has some products that would work fine.

    Accordion door Latch

Not sure tbh. If you post a picture you might get better feedback. Anyways, perko brand makes all sorts of latches and could solve your problem with an inexpensive addition.

Who do you have your boat insured through?

With Geico I have agreed upon value, then when I got my second boat they asked if I wanted personal items coverage, I didn’t even know that was an option initially, but I got I think $8k of coverage on things like a cell phone or whatever if the boat sank with personal property on board. They...

    Repair or replace transom?

Step 1 is getting the engine off. Agree with Dennis, that’s a pretty good crack there. I would not have confidence on the water as is needless to say. This site has a section on transom repairs and also search this forum for some research of what others have done. It’s doable although you may...
