    300 Marlin Rode

Even though you might fit 500 ft of rode, that doesn't mean it will work well if you have a windlass. They need a certain amount of drop (distance from the spot where the line enters the locker and the pile of rope in the locker. If there is too little drop or the rope is stiff and doesn't lay...

Error in converted waypoint files. Possible?

You should be able to look at the Lat and Lon for the new GPX waypoints and compare it to the old data (assuming you read the old card or still have the old MFD. How did you create the CF card and the FSH files? If you exported it, were there options for the file format?

    300 Marlin Rode

The spec for my Lewmar 700 is 1/2 in 3 plait nylon or optionally 8 plait. The manual does say that different manufacturers rope can vary and different sizes may work as well

    2004 Yamaha F225 exhaust problems

That's true but when water gets in the powerhead, it is usually terminal. I think that plate is the oil pan and it should be changes as part of the exhaust repair. In addition it often a good idea to also replace the oil pump.

    2004 Yamaha F225 exhaust problems

Wow, 2 kits in 8 years? Where and how was the boat stored/docked? I wonder if the issues are more electrical in nature ( electrolysis). Was there other erosion of castings or anodes. Where is that casting in relation to the power head? Also, how recent is 'recently'?

    intermittent complete power loss

The only reason for that would be to fry the wires to protect the fuse:) Maybe that should have been a 3 amp....

Grady white 2007 tournament 205 Where is the fresh water fill?

That feature was an option in 2007. You may not have a fresh water system. Do you see a pull out spray head anywhere?

    Electric plug

post a picture of what you found. If it looks like a typical duplex outlet like in your house, it may mean you have the capability to connect to shore power but using a different receptacle either under the gunnels somewhere, or on the outside of the helm. Look for a hinged flap on the outside...

    USB charging ports dead

I guaranty that the outlets are fused somewhere:) I would call Grady and ask them to look up the circuitry for the USB ports ( I assume they were factory installed)

    Warping cockpit and console doors

Is it my paranoia or are we seeing a larger number of quality control issues in later model Freedoms?

    Transom cracking

A large metal faced hammer like that is not the optimal tool but can be used . Best is a leather faced small hammer ( may be hard to find) or a small plastic faced hammer. You are also hammering harder than you need to. The method is tapping, not hammering.. In your video, the bottom edge you...

    Upholstery Scientists

Yup. If you look at some of the stainless steel staple options boxes in the big stores, they say "Not for marine applications"

    Transom cracking

I agree that there probably was a repair and it has failed. What worries me is that if the outside skin delaminated, it shouldn't sound 'solid' as you said. Of course that depends on your skill at tapping the transom. Assuming you tapped correctly and it sounds solid, it looks like the repair...

Mooring Tricks To Keep The Gulls Away

Owl statues work for about 15 minutes. Strings and lines stretched between post are cruel and inhumane IMO. Whirligig's can work well but they can't be too small bigger is usually better. At my club we had an interesting bird event last fall . Gulls like to drop clams onto hard surfaces to...

    Through Hull

Are you sure they are stainless and not chrome plated bronze? They may be bronze if original. If so, the chrome may have corroded away exposing the bronze. Unfortunately if the chrome is gone , it can't be restored. If you can lightly scrub or sand the bronze and it gets shiny, it is still OK...

    Buying a new polisher

I made a typo in an earlier post. The buffing pads I use are made by Presta and not Presto who make incontinence pads:)
