    268 Islander Fuel Tank Replacement

You will have to pull the deck hatch. That doesn't' make sense to me. Look at where the fuel fills connect. I suppose they re-designed it. My forward tank was 68" long. The bulkhead between the forward and aft tanks had to be cut out.

Are their compliance stickers on the tank? You may be able to threaten legal action. Even DIY small claims court.

    Leaking fuel tanks 306 Bimini

Tank builders should be certified. I used SP Tanks in Clermonte, NJ. May be too far for you. They built two tanks for me last Summer and advised me how to install them properly. https://www.greatgrady.com/threads/268-islander-fuel-tank-replacement.36637/

    247 Advance transom issue

Go to GW Factory for answers. Everything else is hearsay. From your description the transom is wet and swelling. It's not made out of composite materials. They don't fail immediately. Look for cracks along rub rail, back well and vertical cracks on outboard side of transom. Start budgeting for...

New 1996 Grady White Islander 268 with twin 200 V6 Mercs

Been decades since I had a 2-stroke! And then it was an upgrade to oil injection. When I replaced my tanks last Summer I replaced the fuel fills. Perko has added a 3/8" shim ring under the standard fuel fill. Helps to divert water around the fuel fill. Can be installed on existing fuel fill IF...

Cockpit Rocket Launchers on Express 330

I also carry two 5-rod rod holder clusters when sailfishing. Hand when you want to clear the rods to fight a fish. I don't like fishing out of them though. Nice because you can move them around.

    232 Fuel tank leak check

I did my fuel tanks in the Summer of 2023. Search "Islander fuel tank hookup1". I did automotive smoke test on thank previously with no leaks. I pulled my aft tank (easy job) and decided to replace it. Wasn't leaking but didn't look good. For $1,000 it was worth it. I then decided to pull the...

Cockpit Rocket Launchers on Express 330

This 5-rod launcher slips into the two existing rod holders. Two aft rods holders. With my narrow beam and always fishing shorthanded I only fish one kite reel (4-clips) plus rigger, deep and flat line. Works well for me. You have a bigger cockpit so a table style would work.

    Bilge ?

This is particular to my boat but likely applies to other models and years. Couple of things to check/consider. The bilge pump fuses and waterproof individual fuse holders attached to the bottom of the battery switch board. Two of them - one circled. The bilge pumps should alway's be "hot"...

    anchor roller

I installed the 5 Oceans pivoting anchor roller - the more expensive one! Different boat and I had to do some glasswork. Works great. Ignore the glasswork. Pulpit wasn't in great shape. Ground out gelcoat and repaired. Waiting for paint this Spring. Underneath the old part was filled. The...

    4 Blade SS props for 06 Gulfstream w/ twin 150s - Recommendations

I have the exact setup you are asking about. Twin Yamaha F150's. 3-blade switch to 4-blade (2006). Different hull. Below is a re-post of my experience switching props. I couldn't be happier. Game changing performance with no downside for me. It's more important to let the engine breath and not...

    Offshore readiness

Look you know your boat and what is likely to go wrong. It's like going to the moon. You can't possible cover every scenario and bring every part or tool. Decide what is likely for your boat, make sure your EPIRB works and your SeaTow/BoatUS are current and go for it. Unlike a moon shot you do...

It's not that complicated. Yes, change the fuel lines. Consider the fuel tanks as well depending on their age.

    Islamorada Sailfish report

Just fought that Florida storm that moved up the coast. Trailering in the rain is no fun. Time it right though - overnight in Darian,GA as the rain started, left at 10am Sunday after it passed over. No wind and roads good all the way down - 80 miles of construction in NC but no delays.
