    Radar mounting on hardtop pics

Gotcha, actually, you might have an issue with the radar mounted too close to the other sensors like the XM weather and not sure if that is a Pilot1 or some other similar device. The radar mounting instructions says not to have anything like that in the radar beam and closer that 6' if I...

    Radar mounting on hardtop pics

Mine is flush, no wedge. Can you mount yours on the actual hump with a wedge in the back to get it to level out?

    Radar mounting on hardtop pics

Tortuga Bob, Interesting on that spotlight mounted this way. How good does this work? Is there any substantial glare when using? I have been trying to find a solution for a light and would like to have one that can pan or move with a remote. My other option pending now is to mount the 10" LED...

    Vhf speaker install

Test placement under the helm also with the compass. I was going to re-locate my 6" fusion speakers to under the helm, but they were affecting the compass when placed less than 6' away. I mounted my VHF speaker on the hardtop aft, just behind my head when sitting at the wheel.

    Trailer tires

Seems Goodyear has stepped up with the Endurance tire. I was not aware they had this one and is made in USA! I did some price comparisons in my size: ST235/85R16 E GY Endurance : $191.00 Maxxis M8008: 164.00 Load Star Karrier HD: $147.00 The 16 might be more in it's class than those in the...

    Trailer tires

Maxxis and Load Star Karrier H/D are the top tier tire brands for trailers. I have never had any issues with either whereas I had lots of issues with other brands.

    Bow Pulpit Upgrade

Thanks Dennis, seems the Mantus and Rocna are the new design type anchors that have really great performance. Was a hard decision which one, but went the Mantus route. Mantus has 2 styles, the Mantus M1, which I picked has the roll bar and the newer Mantus M2 which does not have a roll bar but...

    New Pipe for Hardtop

I tow my boat no more than 150 miles to the coast in spring and bring it back in the fall. About 2 miles to the ramp and back home during the season. It rides on a new Road King trailer which has a very good torsion suspension. I dont ever see any stress from towing and don't feel any harshness...

    Bow Pulpit Upgrade

I am not sure what else to say Dennis, just my experience. With 600' of rode, I have plenty and always put out a lot of scope. One of the days I had way more than 300' and it was still not sticking. Took forever to retrieve that much rode with the windlass. I won't know until some attempts when...

    Bow Pulpit Upgrade

There are some really great videos on Youtube comparing the anchors. Some of them are folks that have lots of weeds that foul anchors ,but those don't apply where we are in NC. However, nearly every test shows the Mantus setting very quickly, almost instantly compared to the Delta. The roll bar...

Handrails and Rust...... How to address

What seasick and others said! Find a way to remove it, polish the SS and hardware, if need to use a wire wheel on a drill to clean the threads of the bolts, bed really well with a quality caulk so all surfaces that are hidden are coated to prevent creeping rust later. Also, I notices that when...

    Routing Starboard

I have a Freud Table mounted router and it runs full speed when working with Starboard and does a good job! For sure, it has to run the correct direction or will chip out. Also, I use Freud router bits. I have seen too many complaints of those cheaper bits you can get from Amazon/Ebay, etc...

    New Pipe for Hardtop

Hi Finest, trust me, the tabs are down and in some cases all the way down. In addition, I have added a lot of lead ballast to the front anchor locker to get her down more since the Grady runs aft heavy for those model years with brackets. I can only take so much abuse at my age so I run as...

Thanks for the reply! Not sure how I even found it. Was this a Private message? I was poking around in the settings trying to figure out why i'm not getting any emails anymore when someone makes a post/response. So you got response from WMW and hardtop with Frame for $5K? Not bad! I guess the...

    New Pipe for Hardtop

Agree GW, for sure I think would go with a heavier duty pipe, not sure what gauge this is vs what's out there and maybe even larger for the main legs. In regards to the boat, seems very sound. No wood rot anywhere to be found, I have large backing plates I made in each mounting area and also...

    New Pipe for Hardtop

Actually, I have had several re-enforcements done to help. They have installed pipes running from front to back on sides, added gussets and one large pipe running from side to side, curved to help with the stress. All this helped, and has gone a couple years with no cracks, but the last trip we...
