I was thinking maybe the floater wasnt freely floating in the bowl in the carbs... might have gunked a little to make it a little sticky instead of moving freely.

So satisfying to reclaim old teak wood furniture. I’ve used Daly’s Seafin teak oil. Doing a couple oil coats and then wait a few weeks and then going to apply some coats of epifanes varnish.

My 2 cents is that while going through the effort to pull the tank, it’s typically worth it to go new... so you aren’t pulling again within 5 years

Use stabil or similar fuel treatment. 2 strokes are pretty reliable. I’d say 3 weeks isn’t bad at all.

i give it another 3 years and many of these boats will be sitting and come up for used sales, but it’ll take some patience
