    228G, What do you think?

True, maybe ask the dealer for a detailed price quote and see what you’d be able to knock of the list and handle yourself. I wouldn’t assume you’d recover $16k in resale but likely north of $10k fixed.

    228G, What do you think?

If you’re talking to a dealer, they have no excuse but to do at least some of the work themselves. Why wouldn’t they fix some of these ‘simple’ issues? I’d leave a lot of room for unknown in offer price. I agree with KY - probably worth getting a survey to avoid potentially big issues if you...

Cracking around bolt - level of concern?

I’d suggest west systems six10 over marinetex - it’s a lot stronger. Marinetex comes in white though and is also an epoxy product. btw the dremel tool is so cool!

Cracking around bolt - level of concern?

West systems epoxy six10 product hardens very hard. Dries kind of yellowish though. If you take that bolt out eventually, you can put an Allen wrench or bent nail in a drill to remove any rotten core material between the fiberglass skins and refill the void area with solid epoxy then redrill the...

    Cruising RPM's?

I have an I/O Volvo Penta 4.3GL on an overnighter. Typically get up on plane about 3200rpm and cruise at about 3400. WOT goes up to about 4000. PO told me he kept it below 3400 to baby the engine a little and save fuel cost.

    Bracket leaking bad

If there is water intrusion you’re going to want to deal with it sooner than later. Not sure there is any cheap fix really unless you have access to some equipment to lift the engine off, take the bracket off, and really assess it. A few tubes of sealant isn’t going to break the bank, but if you...

    1982 overnighter

West marine sells a cheap fiberglass manual Can use a dremel tool or circular saw to cut out the old, but I’d be careful and wear protective gear. Best bet would be epoxy and Gelcoat over a replacement floor. Also don’t destroy the old before making a cardboard template for the new. you...

    1982 overnighter

It’s not so complicated. You could do it with time, resources and work ethic. Maybe some YouTube vids and research before going too deep. If you hire a boatyard it won’t be cheap. Might find someone on Craigslist cheaper but you wouldn’t want a rando half assing the job

Whats it worth? Repowered 24' Offshore

I’d say that part of the issue is just that there’s a lot more buyers in the ‘Under $10k’ market than the ‘Under $20k’ market, even fewer ‘Under $30k’. There just really aren’t THAT many people that are willing to throw money at a boat, let alone have $20k for it and have time to use it. Boaters...
