Looking for Your Opinion on Next Grady

It is my understanding if you have a head, galley and bunk that you can deduct the interest paid on the loan as a second home for tax purposes. I am not sure how banks treat it.

Looking for Your Opinion on Next Grady

Do you have to trailer? If not look at the Express 305 or the Express 330. If you have to trailer look at the 28 foot walk around models that unfortunately are no longer made.

    Dry Tortuga's here we come

Rob, I did not get out and measure them..lol. I do take the boat places and take measured risks, I think. I carry two of everything essential that I need or can replace. For instance I broke my antenna on an overhead beam at the dock. I did not have a second antenna but I had two handheld VHF...

    Grady 232 vs. 228

I just ran 70 miles from the Dry Tortugas to Key West in snotty 3 foot stuff with 3 to 4 second intervals. Did it around 20 knots. A little bit of white water on the windshield and curtains . Lol. I would not have minded having the 232 under me today. With that said the 228 did pretty well...

    Dry Tortuga's here we come

Here is a quick trip report. Seas going were in our favor ran over at 30knots. We had a nice time exploring the fort and Loggerhead Key. It was a bit hot for camping but we managed. This morning a severe storm squall line came roaring through though slowly at sunrise. A sailboat moored in...

    Grady 232 vs. 228

The 228 is a 22 foot boat...I dont know if it is any smaller than any other 22 foot walk around. I have had mine since 2009 and the boat is quite roomy for a 22 in my opinion. Is it as roomy as the 232, nope. It is though with the bracket a spacious boat. You need to sea trial it to rule it...

How low should a 228 sit in the water?

Parth, You know on lakes and in and around marinas where there is floating debris..lake flotsum as it were, well that stuff gets into my ice boxes from the drain holes. It is little pieces of styrofoam and other tiny debris. My boat came with a single 125 gallon tank. I think after the 4...

How low should a 228 sit in the water?

Grady Crazy....all of my side drains are at the water. In fact when sitting in the slip and if I leave the stoppers out of my built in ice chests ...lake debris will bubble up into the ice box. Yours won't do that. I never really paid any attention to it until I saw your boat resting in the water.

How low should a 228 sit in the water?

I noticed in my thread on how many folks primarily use their Gradys in freshwater in a picture of a 225 sitting at rest on Lake Greenwood that her overboard drains are easily 1 to 2 inches above the waterline. My drains on my 228 are at the waterline with the boat empty of folks and with some...

Should it trim this far down?

People have given sound advice here. I say don't limit it. Your gauges may be fine. It is likely the sending unit in the bracket that is the issue. It could be stuck and all you need is some lube on it or it could be bad or corroded out? Start there. Ah, Daytona Beach...my old quasi stomping...

trim gage stuck on three ?

The sending unit is a mechanical potentiometer and often it just needs to lubricated. Mine sticks from time to time and I just squirt a dash of Teflon spray in there .
