    Very happy with my seafarer

The Seafarer is a nice boat. Awesome. I think of my boat everyday floating in the slip thinking about how I can skip my responsibilities and take her out. I am often dreaming of owning an Islander or Marlin and I admit sometimes I don't appreciate my boat for how nice she is. Folks...

How many of youz guyz use your boat mainly in freshwater?

Re: How many of youz guyz use your boat mainly in freshwater I do like the Atlantic Beach Morehead Beaufort metroplex for sure. Emerald Isle is nice and I have cruised that area once in my 228. I would love to take 2 months and Cruise from the Chesapeake to the Keys on ICW.

    Towing a 24' walk around?

I would like to add that I had a 192 and in a pinch I would tow it with a Toyota Highlander with a V6 at 5k pounds towing capacity. We would tow our camper to St. Augustine from Orange City to camp at Anastasia State Park. It weighed more than the boat and used our Sequoia to tow it. The...

How many of youz guyz use your boat mainly in freshwater?

Re: How many of youz guyz use your boat mainly in freshwater Brian, One of these days I will get my boat down to Lanier and meet up with you or join you on the TN River. I keep saying it but it will happen. We could have an inland version of the Great GRady round up or something ..lol

    Towing a 24' walk around?

You can tow that. Towing is easy stopping is the hard part. The question is can you tow it at what speed and distance? I tow a lot and have had my share of issues with tires and hubs. My trips to Florida range between 600 and 900 miles. I think your vehicle would be fine in flat areas...

How many of youz guyz use your boat mainly in freshwater?

Today we will be splashing the Grady on Fontana Lake here in the Smoky Mountains. We keep her in a covered slip and I will take her out in mid July for a cleaning and trip prep to the Keys. I wonder how many Gradys spend their days plying the unsalted deep as it were. I am horrible with names...

    Another Gil Bracket Question

I don't know Clark if I should be bobbing around no ocean with a piece cheap government fiberglass between me and my outboard motor. Ok, all kidding aside it seems like a good product but is it not heavy especially compared to aluminum? Even with the perk of added flotation I wonder what the...

    adding A/C to a 1993 22' Seafarer

I have overnighted on the lake and during a cruise up the mighty St. John's River. I did it with 5 people. My kids were much smaller then. I go backpacking and my backpack tent is much smaller than my cabin. So for me doing a lite boat camping can be fun. It is not 40 ft Viking with a salon...

24 Inch radome performance xHD radar

Last season I mounted a Garmin 24xHD radome to my hardtop. I put it on the hump of the hardtop with the front of the radar overhanging the hump. It is mounted directly to the top. Question. I have to increase the gain to about 80% to pick up nearby targets. I estimate the true range is maybe...

Thanks Boatermen for the rubrail tips

Doc, I know you have a PhD and all, but you would be Docky McDockface. However, you are an amazing boaterman and you should wear that with pride. That acetone worked well. I was a little dizzy though as I finished. I did not have my official American Boaterman Association of America...

Thanks Boatermen for the rubrail tips

Re: Thanks Boatermen for the tips Firenailer, I fell in love with the word from that utube video. If Homer Simpson can say Doh and make it in the dictionary, then maybe we Boatermen here can do the same? I am trying to figure out how to also make it verb.

Thanks Boatermen for the rubrail tips

I took DocStressor tip on acetone on the rubrail and the tip to put two coats of mop n glo on it. It looks like new. I have been using Maguiers vinyl protectant and it worked ok. These ideas worked well. You guys are true Boatermen ;-)

Once upon a time in Grady White Factory far far away

Lt. Mike, As you know living in the mountains limits my sea time to a couple times a year. I usually take a spring trip to Florida and this year my niece got married last Saturday . I did a twofer as it were. I got 2 days in before the wedding and 1 day after. Drove home yesterday on Monday...

First time Grady owner!! Tips please

Congrats on the boat. I don't know if she has trim tabs or not but if it does not i would suggest adding them. It is not SeaV2 hull so the ride will be different than those with the SeaV design. Enjoy the ride.

    SeaV2 hull performance

I have been a Grady owner now for going on 15 years. I bought Grady because my brother owned one and I rented a number of center console boats in the Keys and everyone of them were wet rides. I use to get bothered reading critical stuff on THT when it came to the brand. Like I made a bad...

    228 dark blue body trim

The mop n glow is for the rub rail only. The boat itself I use collinites wax. The deck I use woody wax. If the topsides are oxidized I use a rubbing compound like Maguiers oxidation remover and then polish with 3M Finesse then wax.

    Freedom 235

I got the email and the space consumed by the Euro transom and all is significant to me. It seems like a family boat more than a fishing boat for sure...$110k.Really?

    228 dark blue body trim

Doc, Thanks for the clarification and taking me back to my days in organic chemistry. Lol. I was just having some fun. The dad in that movie used Windex from cleaning Windows to treating acne. Lol. I did mean to imply you are a fan of it.

Why'd this have to be a Grady?

Boaterman. n ...a rich dude with little common sense and buys a nice power boat. A man who owns a boat. A term used by envious people about boat owners who are boatless themselves. It is in the dictionary now. ;-) The narrator is not a cool guy. He is likely a product of the everybody...
