    Price Guidance on a 1995 208 w/ f150 and MK trolling motor

The selling season in NJ starts slowly now. Buyers want to close by March to get ready for the next season. This isn't a boat I would list with a broker so you have to try Facebook Marketplace (watch for scammers), BoatTrader, Yachtworld and a few of the other paper and online listings. You...

Horn replacement for 2006 306 bimini

Same old junk as the others they are not 316 stainless. Eventually the rust out and stain your boat. I have a new one on the shelf that has a 5-year warranty. It is identical to all the others. No more rust...

Horn replacement for 2006 306 bimini

I changed mine several times over the years. They all got rusty and stained the boat. I took mine off when I painted my boat along with two front windows and the wipers. Bought an air horn in a can! No more rust.

    Not enough power?

I have a '97 Islander repowered with Yamaha F150 in 2007. I made the switch to 4-blade props a few years back. The props were a game changer for me. No loss of top end performance - 28 knot cruise but significantly better mid-range. I have over 2,000 hours on them and they are running perfectly...

    Invasion of the AI BOT's

These threads are getting ridiculous. Someone opens up the thread and 15 posts come in without any response from the original member. Everyone commenting and negotiating against themselves. All silly speculation. Give the original member a chance to get back and go from there. If there is not...

    1996 272 Sailfish Drainage tubes

Not much to see. The tank shim blocks on the aft end of the tank are 1 1/2". You could get a camera down there to see the drain but the deck has to be up. The access ports are over the sending units. Same for both tanks. One thing I was concerned about was freeze damage to the 1/2" PVC from the...

    1996 272 Sailfish Drainage tubes

You can't see them with the tanks in place. You can snake the aft one - it's only 1 1/2" long. Hitting the one between the forward and aft tank is near impossible. I have used endoscope cameras but they are impossible to control and difficult to see. You are probable ok there. To even have a...

    1996 272 Sailfish Drainage tubes

I replaced my fuel tanks on my Islander this Summer. Still finishing up. Your question about how the forward, fuel compartment and aft bilge are managed is one that bugged me for a long time. A Islander is a little brother to a Sailfish. Other than the beam the boats are pretty much the same...

Led replacement lights that will fit into factory spot. Spreader and courtesy

This is the dome light on my boat. If you have red/white dome and spreader light switches on yours it is probably the same. You may be able to find replacement LED bulbs. For me I left mine alone - they are working just fine. This dome light gets a lot of discussion on GG site. The original...

    Switch panel Q 97 248 Voyager

Not sure of the year of your boat. Grady White has user manuals for all models on their web site. The user manuals are very handy for electrical and hose routing. The electrical gives wire color pairs. The ACC switches are wired but unused on my boat. I replaced my forward fuel tank this year...

    Locked brakes

The round / straight pin on the actuator isn't in right and starting to come out. The round part should be over the shaft to hold in place. Bend the pin if necessary to lock it in place. Look at the smaller one on the actuator. Make sure the emergency brake arm on top of the actuator is pushed...

1984 22’ seafarer kicker mount questions

Wet transoms are not uncommon. The plywood doesn't go to mush immediately. It still has strength - thru bolt it. But plan to repair that transom down the road.

    Fisherman 236 Drainage

On my 268 Islander the anchor locker drains into the forward bilge. It could be different on your model or year. If it is there will be a thru hull mushroom up forward - but I doubt it! I don't particularly like it that way because its more than water that gets into the bilge.

    Electronics cost

The interesting thing about the 9000 series is that all that 4k screen resolution makes split screen viewing much more practical. And the 9000 series is available in a 19", 22", 24" and 27" display (all the same resolution but bigger pixels). With a little fiberglass work on my lower helm I...

    Electronics cost

The 1243's are a great value but the 86xx series is a better display and more pixels. Bigger on both series doesn't mean better - it only means the pixels are bigger! More pixels is better. Resolution makes a big difference when you are on a chartplotter screen. It allows you to see more of the...

    Electronics cost

Garmin 8616xsv is $6,099 each. You may be able to fit one of the new 4k displays like the 9019 at $9,899 and go single display. Don't let the dealer talk you into the older or lesser chartplotters. The 86xx or 90xx series is what you want. I would put one or two of the 90xx displays in if they...

That's what we we need to help. All these wild responses with no background are a waste. If you are inclined to go with Garmin I would recommend a GMR 18 Fantom radar. You have the option to go bigger and open array if you like. I would recommend the 8612xsv (or 2 of them if you like) because...
