You are only pressure testing the oil seals around the gear lube. You can do it with the lowers off the engine.

I assume that you are conceerned with water in the lower unit gear lube, not in the engine oil. Buy a pressure tester to check seals in lower unit...

On the stern corners, pointing straight back, most likely 30 degrees. If you have 3 per side, the next one angles outboard, and the 3rd one up to 90 degrees straight out. You don't have to go that extreme, you could angle each one any amount you like, but you have to make sure you have room...

If I was going to walk the trailer out from under it, I would use a floor jack in the front, and every time I came to a cross member, just let it back down on the trailer, and move the jack behind the cross member, instead of building and tearing down stacks of blocks.

Insure the boat for how you are goint to use it. Sitting on the trailer in your yard, under repair, does not require the same insurance as towing to the coast, and fishing 30 miles out in the GOM.

I believe I recall ocnslr offering to fly down, and help you get your boat water ready last year, for not much more than the price of a ticket. That would have been the best money you ever spent on your Grady. Maybe it's not too late.
