    Profits on new Gradys

I don't know if it is profit as much as it could be inflation. The simple fact of the matter the Federal Reserve is deflating the dollar everytime they print more for all the out of control spending by the Fed govt. I tend to belive you are seeing the chickens of Obama's fiscal policies coming...

    MINIMUM HP on a 228 G

I have yammaha's fuel management system telling me GPH, total burned and fuel economy. It is pretty darn accurate within a tenth of a gallon. My 3.1 to 3.2 numbers are correct at cruise.

    satellite weather unit

Not to be critical of the IPAD idea, Buttttt, the IPAD aint water proof splash proof and is likely not built to withstand the vibration and poudning a boat can give electronics. Marine electronics are and I am not sure I would chance ruining an IPAD being in rough seas....just sayn...

    satellite weather unit

I have a Garmin GPS Map 478..portable car/marine unit preloaded with marine charts and so forth. It has a built in XM reciever, just add the XM antenna. We have a weather package, I think it is called the Sailor or Mariner, anyway it offers weather charts, doppler radar, marine / weather...

new looking 33 @ AC boat show

It is odd looking and so forth, but perhaps they are answering some the critics about the "Grady Style" hard tops. I recall being new to the forum here and the infamous debate of Grady vs Pursuit and one of the things the Pursuit guys pointed out was the nonintegrated windshield and hard...

Update on Kyle...nearly a year later

I forgot to say, but when I wrote about Kyle's surgery last year, the out pouring of support here was very heartfelt to me and the Admiral. Yall really touched us last year. I am thankful for all the kind words folks wrote here. Thanks again.

Update on Kyle...nearly a year later

Hey Yall: Last year I wrote the forum about surgery my son Kyle had to reconstruct his hips. We are now a year out and come April the titanium in his hips will be coming out. The surgery results have been good and his hips are still aligned properly. He is walking about the same before the...

    Questions About Marine Insurance

I bought my boat new 2 years ago and priced out several different policies. My auto/home insurance is through USAA and they no longer insure boats and PWCs. They now use Progressive. I priced Boat US, Sea Insure, GEICO and Progressive and went with Progressive. We have a replacement cost policy...

    Bottom Scupper on Seafarer?

Would this not be the livewell drain? Simple way to find out, put water in the livewell and see if it drains out. On the 228 the livewell drains out of the transom, but then again the livewell is in the stern of the boat.

    MINIMUM HP on a 228 G

This performance is on a lake, on a full moon with venus aligned with mars (lol)....seriously, it is on the lake where I do most of my boating. In the ocean with 2 to 3 it drops to like 2.6 to 2.8 depending on wind and whether we are in a following or leading sea.

    MINIMUM HP on a 228 G

Nik820, On my 228 with a hardtop and F250, I get 3.1 to 3.2 mpg at cruise with a crew of 4. My top end on flat water is 43 mph. Interesting numbers there.

New Prop in the budget...advice before I buy

I have read here and other places a 4 bladed prop can improve cruising performance in terms of fuel economy, improve cornering in tight turns and help with performance in a larger following sea. We cruise with our boat and water sports perhaps 75% of the time and fish 25%. I want to improve the...

New Prop in the budget...advice before I buy

Hey Ya'll: Last fall I asked about the pros and cons about going to a 4 blad SS prop for my 228. I am considering buying one from one of the dealers suggested in the thread. However, before I buy the prop I am wanting to get an update from anybody else who went from a 3 blad to 4 blade and...

    Ethanol Rears Its Ugly Head

Funny when a drug company creates some new life saving drug, it takes years and years of study and so forth before it hits the market. If the drug injures somebody, the legal system kicks in and so forth. There is still some concern and evidence that E 10 damages motors and so forth. So we rush...

    Collinite Fleet Wax

I used the Collinites last year for the first time based on what folks here suggested and I like the product and its results, especially how long it lasted. I would think if you want to apply a second coat that a cleaner in between would simply remove the first coat applied. Some folks...

Running from NC to FL - advice on hotels with docks?

Dave, are talking to me? Kind of in the voice of Joey Saprano...are you talking to Rob? We are thinking about a weekend away this summer either near you at Huntington Beach State Park or down south at Hunting Island State Park...have you been to either?

It just goes to how you, wealthy (often Russian) spammers prefer Grady White boats over any other brand...all these guys must be Grady owners

    228 Seafarer Shade Ideas

I still have not purchased the outriggers...the economy is still not back to where it needs to be...anyway, the one that I liked alot was actually in Anchorlines from Grady White two years ago...they had a picture of a larger walk around with an aft shade that went from the hard top to the stern...

Running from NC to FL - advice on hotels with docks?

Rob, pardon my lack of clarity here. So, you are driving to New Bern towing your baby, splashing her, cruising back home and then putting her on a flat bed trailer, heading back to New Bern and then towing her back home again? Would it not be cheaper to leave in her in Fla and rent a car to go...
