Whats your 2010 Special Event on your GW?

Sel, I went to grad school at FSU and spent a fair amount time in the Big Bend from the Suwannee River, fished the mouth and got some big cobes on the shoals there. My kids, the admiral and I love Cape San Blas and St. Joe Bay. It is unspoiled and absolutely wonderful place to boat and fish...

Music choices - heading thru the pass.....

Megabytes, I just installed Alpine's plug and play amplifier to my system this past weekend. It brings the continuious power to 50 watts x 4...not sure the peak. My head unit was something like 4 x 18 continuious, 45 peak. If your system is not already amplified, this is a simple way to...

    Electronics decision

I am very pleased with my choice in the garmin 4208. Sure there will be advances this year and beyond, but it is a nice system. I have a thru hull ducer on it, but no radar, maybe someday. I like integration so my vote is go with either a garmin system or furuno. Sure there are nema connections...

    Grady Drive drain

I will follow this as I too have the Gdrive. It is aluminum and as such is a relatively soft metal and then you got galvonic corrision issues with dissimilar metals in sea water. Seems to me, the plastic or nylon is likely the way to go here.

Music choices - heading thru the pass.....

I installed an Alpine marine cd tuner with ipod controller. Alpine worked with Apple in designing their new generation multimedia players. Every ipod function is displayed on the deck and the remote control controls the ipod too! Music...like a good mix of rock, alternative and country. I...

Call me crazy, but I like taking the admiral fishing when she wants to go. She enjoys driving the boat while we troll which means I can rig the bait, kick back a little...I suspect you are just having some internet fun

    PROSPECTIVE GW PURCHASE QUESTION

Capt. Bill, What is involved in cleaning and ventilating below deck? Is it simply popping all the access ports and taking a shop vac and cleaning out the bilge? My boat is under cover of one of those metal pole barn sheds. I bring it up.solely to point out I can leave the access ports open...

2nd battery install ,couple of questions

Looking at the schematic provided by Grady on the pergo switch and battery configutation. On the 228, they have 40 amp main and engine crank coming to the switch. There are 3 12 v constants coming out of switch, 2 for bilges and 1 for constant, 10 amp. The grounds go to a common bus fed by...

2nd battery install ,couple of questions

Ok, read my manual. It makes no mention of charging batteries other than not to switch it off. It neither confirms or denies both batteries will be charged in either the 1 or 2 positions. They state rotate between position 1 and 2. One could assume the system is only charging the battery as...

2nd battery install ,couple of questions

ok, real stupid question here. I always thought when having multiple batteries with the factory installed selector switch that both batteries are being charged in any of the three positions? Is this accurate? Does the switch have to be on both to charge both? The batteries are wired in parallel...
