    electronic upgrade for 330

I bought a 2002 330 in 2011 & it had 2002 vintage Furuno electronics. I slowly started to upgrade with a Garmin 5212. I now have all Garmin - two 5212, 24" radome HD radar, B164 (?) transducer, 2 fuel computers (don't remember the model) and Sirius weather. The only component I didn't replace...

    Need advice Yamaha corrosion issue

Hey Brian - Never entered my mind to check the manual, should have been first thing I did. Service guide has rpm range from 650 to 750, 650 would probably show on display as 6 which is what it shows - so probably ok. Had a lot of good feedback on THT. I am going to go ahead with exhaust...

    Need advice Yamaha corrosion issue

I am considering 300 Zukes if I have to repower but I prefer not to spend the $ (or more correctly, my wife prefers not to spend the $) I was told by someone on THT that 600 rpm's is too low should be 750 rpm's - do you happen to recall what in gear idle was on your original engines?

    Need advice Yamaha corrosion issue

Both of your suggestions were checked and replaced at the 100 hour service. Someone on THT suggested that 600 rpm is too low for idle in gear, it should be 750 rpm's - if you have 225's do you have any comments?

    Need advice Yamaha corrosion issue

I have 2002 F225's with 1,100 hours. About 2 months ago the port engine started to give me the overheat alarm when running at 600 rpm - didn't occur at 800 rpm or higher, engines running great at high rpm's. Took it to Yamaha dealer & showed them that alarm would go off after idling in gear...

Need help from 330 & Marlin owners

Blaming it on old age - I forgot that I had posted this as I seem to have found a simple solution to my problem. I took the advice of the tech that told me to re-do the dockside setup and then run the sea trial procedure. A couple of months ago I went through the procedure and the AP was...

330 express- 2002 Air Conditioning Problem

As a follow up to my previous post - I am back on the boat & took some photos of the fresh water flush on my boat. This first photo shows the connection to the garden hose and where it connects to a brass ball valve that is attached to the back of genny compartment - I couldn't get a photo of...

330 express- 2002 Air Conditioning Problem

I have a fresh water flush for my A/C - I'll be down at the boat on Aug 22nd & will take photos and post them here. When I had the fresh water flush installed it was meant to solve a problem with the pump losing prime but then I realized it could also serve to provide the flushing. A year and...

    330 Express questions

Glad to hear that the insurance company didn't question the hp rating. There have been some warnings posted on THT but it might be more related to the type of boat (go fast, etc) I've had my boat for five years and in the year range that I was looking at original engines were limited to either...

    330 Express questions

"Recently stepped up to a 330- 2002 hull with 2012 Yam 300's" I have a 2002 with original F225's & just over 1,000 hours - don't know the condition of the internal oxidation & don't really want to find out. I plan on running it (with recommended maintenance) until one dies and then going with...

Locking the discharge valve for the head

On my 330 - (1) Take the key out of the discharge panel in head, (2) Have the thru hull handle in the off position and (3) have the circuit breaker for overboard discharge in the off position. I have never been inspected where they were looking at the thru hulls, only fish in the fish box and...

"Easy to do, but they are expensive, at about $400-$500 each pump. Part# 69J-24410-02-00 Tutorial link as above: http://www.simyamaha.com/category_s/1990.htm" Jole Thanks for the info. The aftermarket pumps are 1/4 to 1/3 the price of the OEM - does anyone have experience with any of the...

    2003 - F225 low pressure pumps

EPPE I have twin F225 2002 vintage - just passed 1,000 hours. I got the boat with 450 hours and I don't believe my pumps have been changed out. Always looking for valid PM projects and this looks like one I should do. Please forward the link to the tutorial & the part number of the pumps, if...

    Livewell pump on seacock

I believe my 330 has the pump attached to the seacock. I can't verify it as the boat is 700 miles away but, I would think the user manual should confirm the location.

    Keeping sea cocks closed??

Ron I have 5 thru hulls & the only two I keep closed are the overboard discharge (required by law) and the live well (because I use it for dry storage when not fishing with live bait). Which means I keep the genny, A/C & raw water wash down open. I changed out the genny and A/C strainers for...

    Mooring whip locations

I had them mounted on my dock for a 22' Pursuit, in a canal that got moderate traffic with most boaters being considerate. I mounted one for the stern cleat and the other for the bow cleat. Both of them were set up to attach to the cleats furthest from the dock & tightened down to put as much...

Need help from 330 & Marlin owners

Thanks for the responses. I ran the same question on THT (The Hull Truth) and the consensus came back with Simrad AP24 specifically AP2404VRF. I had a problem with the Garmin network recognizing the radar & had a tech come on board to fix it. I ran the same question by him & his response was...

Need help from 330 & Marlin owners

My 2002 vintage autopilot seems to have finally crapped out. It is a Robertson AP-11 & it was on the boat when I bought it 5 years ago. The other electronics were Furuno and nothing was interfaced. The best I every got out of the Robertson was reasonable performance in fairly calm seas, any...
