Average discounts in today’s market? 235 Freedom

From my experience last year ordering a boat, it was ~$6,000 premium to upgrade a mechanical engine to digital controls and steering. That doesn’t account for the HP upgrade to a 350. As to trailers, list price for a Venture Commander series was $6,800 for a Grady 215 in June of 2023. With...

    Boat Hauling Company

I used Caj Flynn to move a Grady from Deerfield to Charleston. Nice thing about guys that exclusively move boats is that you get hatches taped and anything that could blow out/ open secured. He’s south FL based too.

water spots on my 1991 228 windshield

Not quite a boat windshield, but I used a glass polishing compound on my wife’s windshield after she decided that scotchbrite was the best method to remove caked on bugs:( bless her heart.. I bought a recommended polish and used my Flex polisher with a finishing foam pad. It took probably 6...

    Ordering the perfect GW

I’d look in to options for the motors. With digital controls and steering, maybe consider a joystick, although that would limit the bow thruster usage.

    Shiply Is Horrible

That sucks, big time. Hopefully, you’ll be made whole. Perhaps you can still get the boat at a salvage offering?

    2000 Adventure 208 is 150 HP enough???

Grady speced 150 as minimum and 250 max. If you are happy with the performance of the 175, not sure it’s worth the risk to try a 150 and now be disappointed with the boat. Put a 250 on it and grin from ear to ear every hole shot:p

Power Pole mount on a Freedom 235

The dual swim platforms make adding that challenging. I did a quick search of used 235’s and search results didn’t show any with a power pole. New boats likely won’t have it unless dealer added since Grady doesn’t offer it as a factory option on that model.

Registration numbers in a GW font

I think BoatUS that has an app with various fonts.

    Reminder to turn off batteries

Reminds me of my VHF antenna on my Seafarer 228 that I kept forgetting to lower before trailering. Shakespeare had me on their automatic monthly replacement program :( I contemplated putting a reminder sticker at the helm but after enough financial pain, lowering the antenna became part of my...

    Hydraulic upgrade

Parker stores can usually fab up new lines with proper connectors on both ends. Not sure if they shorten existing lines.

    Transom Transducer Mounting Location

On their website they use the term “adhesive” and I may be incorrect calling it “epoxy”. The 2-part comes in a mixing tube, but I still squeeze it out on to a piece of cardboard and mix it thoroughly. If you look at the back of their blocks, the perimeter holes are machined with an undercut...

    Transom Transducer Mounting Location

Stern Saver is a brand and a company that supplies a kit for the installation. The kit consists of a starboard block, a 2-part epoxy, sandpaper, alcohol wipes, gloves, and a mounting template system that makes locating and keeping the block in place very easy. The starboard block is machined -...

    Transom Transducer Mounting Location

Here’s a couple pics that are hopefully helpful. I’m holding an aluminum square flat against the hull bottom adjacent to the transducer. The square is about 1/8” thick. You can see the nose of the transducer slightly lower than the hull bottom and is at a slight angle downwards at the rear. The...

    Transom Transducer Mounting Location

That’s called a transom saver. Epoxy a chunk of starboard to the transom to mount the transducer. I also epoxied a couple cable tie mounts, too. No holes drilled through the transom below the waterline.
