    New Battery Config for 265

Bringing up an old thread. I assume you made your own cables when you did this setup? What size cable did you use for the new ones, 2g?

    265 express cabin access plexiglass

Can it just be glued back into place? The load is spread across the width of the panel. I'd probably epoxy it back together and run it.

    New Electronics

I just installed new Raymarine stuff in my 265. 12" in the dash panel, and a 9" in the overhead.

Replaced Tansom Bang Cap as Preventive Maintenance - Just In Time.

There is an aluminum brace that goes across the transom, I believe it also ties into the stringers. Not sure what models if not all of them have it. I know at least the 265 and Marlin have them. See this thread for some decent pictures of it, and some of the repairs they had to do around it...

    Trailer brakes

It's an aluminum trailer. The surge brake coupler seems in good shape, though it's on the list to switch to EOH in the near future. Got the brakes bleed this weekend and took it for a good test drive, all seems to be working well.

    265 first ocean run

Well took it out today on the Columbia River, not quite like an ocean run, but it felt like it out there today. 20-25 knot winds, with gust to 30, short duration 3-4 ft ground swells, with white caps on tap of that. Was hoping to catch some shad today, but just wasn't happening. But it was a...

    Trailer brakes

He lived like 4 blocks from the marina, so I'm sure it was drop the boat in the spring, park the trailer till the fall when he picks up the boat. Probably never washed down the brakes after splashing the trailer twice a year.

    Trailer brakes

I looked at it as much as I could. As I mentioned in the 1st post, he said the trailer was just serviced. I didn't ask, he just told me that. I take full responsibility for not being as thorough looking at the trailer after he said that. I also guess I shouldn't be surprised, considering...

    Help Wanted Finding a 282

When I was looking for a 265 express about 6 months ago, I was considering east coast as well. Most of the quotes I got were in the 6-8k range from South Carolina to Portland. You rarely see 265s come up for sale here in the PNW, but the one I ended buying was up in Sekiu. From his original...

    Trailer brakes

I know it's a lot to ask, but don't hype up or lie when trying to sell something. "The trailer was just serviced" he said! Or maybe his idea of being "serviced" is pumping grease into the axles. 3 of the 4 brakes had NO inner pad. The one remaining inside pad and all the outside ones were just...

    New Grady White club

Not that these Clubs get a lot of action or traffic, but wondering if there needs to be 2 separate clubs for the West coast. Maybe a "Pacific NW Grady White Club" and a "California Grady White Club". Maybe even break Cali down to a Northern and Southern? Seems like there are multiple for the...

    2001 Express 265 Repairs

Congrats on the 265. I'm a fairly new 265 owner as well. Lots of good info on here. As Skunkboat mentioned, do a search. 1) Mine already had Winlass, so cant answer that one. 2) the deck hatches come up pretty easy, just need to cut out the caulking. They are pretty heavy. To reseal, use...

    265 first ocean run

Well I fixed it. The upper hinge has a tube the comes down and seems to be more of a stop for the piston when its fully retracted. I cut the tube about a 1/2" shorter, and now they fully retract. The picture of the tube is before I cut it.

    265 first ocean run

I unscrewed the tab from the actuators, then retracted the tabs and they didn't come up any higher. I'm starting to think the previous owner maybe replaced them with the Bennett "short" actuators and not the super short ones that are specific to grady.

    265 first ocean run

I was just referring to the actual tabs, if I can't straighten mine out. But when I spoke to Thomas at Bennett, he did say that you can add an indicator kit to the existing actuators. You need to cut down the shaft(i believe this what he said), or buy new actuators with the shaft already at...
