    Washdown

I did have it up, didn't notice any wiring corrosion. But the pump looked like it was probably the original or close to it. What pump did you replace it with?

    Washdown

So when I had the boat out doing the break-in, was getting familiar with stuff on the boat, since this was one of the first real runs I've had in it. When operating the washdown, it would come on and spray water for 30 sec to 1 min, then stop working. Turned off the switch, came back to it a...

    265 anchor and rode

These are the most common anchors in my area, but considering probably 90% of the boats are aluminum on the river, it isnt a surprise. For what I've read the plow style anchors work well on the Columbia river as well.

    265 anchor and rode

So i have a GC0762 gypsy, which for what I've found takes the 1/2" rode and 1/4" chain. Where are the best deals to be found for rode and chain? Looking for 25ft of chain and 300 ft of rode. Thanks

    265 break-in voyage

I wasn't on plane for a good portion of that, it was putting around keeping it at the recommended less than 3k for the first 2 hours. Also some longer stretches of no wake zones in the area we were at. Wasn't till the last 10 miles or so that I got it up on plane. On plane it was registering...

    265 break-in voyage

Got the 265 out yesterday for the break-in of the new Zukes. Ran it for about 4 hours, ran perfect. Total of about 40 miles total, and burned 24g of fuel. I also tried my hand at sewing and recovered the coaming pads and seats, with new foam as well. Only ones I haven't done yet is the...

    265 anchor and rode

Thanks, I've seen that. What I'm trying to identify is what gypsy I have. I reached out to Lewmar, they said there should be code stamped in between the teeth (pockets where the chains link would go). I'll look it this weekend.

    265 anchor and rode

So the windlass on mine is a Simpson Lawrence Horizon 600. Appears to have been discontinued in 2006. I've read the manual on it, but not seeing where to find the gypsy # to get the proper size rode and chain. Any help finding it? Thanks

UPDATE Advice dealing with Moisture at the Trim Tabs

Thought i was right in the bottom of the hull is solid glass. When I saw it was a 282, I was thinking those tabs are just like the 265 and the hinge is screwed into the bottom of the hull.

    Position on trailer

A couple of the reasons I happened to look at this. When hooked up to the truck, the rear most tires seemed to have more weight on them. I was actually looking at getting a lower drop hitch. But then this last weekend, I was replacing the winch strap and when I unhooked the old one with the...

UPDATE Advice dealing with Moisture at the Trim Tabs

Sorry if sounds dumb, but isn't the bottom of the hulls on these solid fiberglass?

    Position on trailer

The trim tabs are directly under the transom, so yes the bunks are quite a bit back from the edge of the transom. I think I'm going to adjust it about 6 inches or so forward.

    Power 225 up to 300 24 offshore

I would go with as much HP as it's rated for. Never hear anyone complaining they wish they had less power. :D

    Position on trailer

Was looking at the boat sitting on the trailer, to me it looks like it might be sitting back a bit to far. Where should the bunks be in relation to the trim tabs? Up to the leading edge, or right underneath them?

    Need Insurance Recommendation

The one thing I would say to make sure of with whatever insurance company you use, see what you "offshore" limits are! I asked when I was renewing mine with Metlife. They told me I had only been insured for river's, lakes, etc, I wasn't insured for ocean! When I asked about offshore limits...
