We got nine bass over 40" before 9 am yesterday. Just north of the Manasquan Inlet, off the radio tower in 30 ft. All bites were on the bottom. All of these bass are too big to keep. I see A LOT of guys still fishing their snagged bunker instead of putting them on circle hooks(ITS THE LAW...

    Deck Drain Hose

Be sure to get Series 148 not 140. Series 149 is the black version Series 148 hose is an all-around good choice for bilge, potable water fill and sanitation applications. Extra-heavy, smooth-walled, PVC hose for sanitation system connections (head intake, head to holding tank, holding tank...

    Deck Drain Hose

1.5" VAC hose. It won't collapse and will never rust like the original. Heat it to get it on the fittings. I got it at We$t Marine. You want to measure it out because you don't want to buy too much extra.

    265 X water intrusion

I replaced the pop-out 6" Becksons with the screw type. I don't trust three 6" holes that can pop out... You need to remove the screws and seal the ring with silicone too

    265 X water intrusion

Do you have flappers on the scuppers? With a lot of weight, water can come into the deck from the scuppers. If you don't have a seal of silicone around the deck drains and deck hatches it leaks from the deck down into the bilge. Flappers help alot but you can still get backwash in rough seas...

    Auto Pilot

I would add to what Doc said. The pump matters. The less expensive pumps can be fine for general navigation. If you want to troll at 2mph get a better one.

    265 X water intrusion

Assuming the hoses are new and clamped well.... The seal of the aft deck. The 6" pieholes in the motor well. The seal of the deck drains . The lower motor bolts. The garboard plug. The thru hull pickups and the Rule livewell pump

    96 300 marlin transducer

Forget the B175. You have to make a huge hole. Use a B265, B275 or B285 model (very large 1kw) or a B765 model (600w fit exact hole as the old B744). They will mount on the flat areas you mentioned. look at dimensions of the housing and the diameter of the hole. There are two different sizes...

    Removing Thru Hulls for resealing

https://www.greatgrady.com/threads/deck-drain-scupper-surprise.28979/post-182609 The Husky spanner worked well for the tightening/loosening and the homemade 2"PVC pipe wrench for spinning it the lenght of the threads. Didn't use the Milwaukee wrench, returned it.

Yamaha 300 HP not full going down

Does this only happen when lowering from full up TILT or do you also have problems when trying to make trim adjustments while running? I go back to the fact that adding a dab of grease to the TOP of the rod makes it work. That implies the Tilt and Trim pumps are working(I would still check...

Yamaha 300 HP not full going down

So the trim motors are working? They raise the trim? Does trim work up & down while the motor is down in the running position? The problem is only when going from Tilted out of the water to lowering to contact trim rods? Normally, The weight of the motor lowers the trim rods when the trim...

    Transom Failure Incidents

I think that style of transom has a separate piece of finished glass on the inner side of the motorwell. It has an L shape going over the top. The aluminum trim covers the top outside edge. What you are seeing are not cracks but a split in the caulk.

    NJ fishing reports

So after 3 weeks of wind, waves, and rain, I got out solo Tuesday morning for look for some seabass. Got 9 keepers, nothing really big. Disappointed with the size. I thought they would be jumbos. Going to have to look farther off. Also lots of chub mackeral and bonito and 10" bluefish on the wreck.

So it is always charging if either motor is running. The most run down they ever get is after a full night of fishing. Ive never...

    Transom Failure Incidents

HMB- I went thru a transom project on an 84 Wellcraft. It had wet wood in the inside corners (because it had the same stupid aluminum trim over the transom seam as a Grady) and wet wood where 30 years of transducers had been mounted. The motor had NO signs of flexing. The gelcoat (not the...

    2022 Freedom 235 electrical issues

As for the CL7. It is made by Garmin. the power cable from the Garmin (depending on model) may fit the CL7. Since you know the Garmin works, if you plug in the CL7 to that cable and it doesn't work then the CL7 is broken. It may be under warranty from Yamaha? If it works, you have a connection...
