Do I have Yamaha Corrosion? See 5 Photos...

Thanks but I think I'm not going to tear my model 2006 F250 apart - at least not yet. That motor in the link to THT was a Model year 2002 with holes in the muffler. Mine does not. Appreciate all of the inputs!

    265 Express Pro's and Con's

"Hey guys, just picked up a 265 and purchased a new 10,400 lb tandem axel trailer. You all have me thinking I should have picked up a triple axel. I have a F250 v10 6.7l to pull her so that shouldn't be an issue. Am I alright with a tandem axel trailer or should I be kicking myself? Will be...

    265 Express Pro's and Con's

Unlike your Marlin, the 265 lacks the aft bunk. This is why I moved from a 265 to a 330. No looking back for me. I love that aft bunk! With the right 3 axle trailer and heavy duty truck (3/4 ton), the 265 can be trailered around which opens options for you. Can't do that with the 30 and 33...

Do I have Yamaha Corrosion? See 5 Photos...

Thanks GMan25. I'm accepting the fact that my engines will eventually need the repair. There is logic in having it done sooner than later. Better to be on the safe side I guess. Once the repair is done, I'd like to think I should go another 8 or 9 years without any corrosion related...

Thanks Gman. So, if these photos were of your engines, what would you do? Pull the power heads? Really?

Do I have Yamaha Corrosion? See 5 Photos...

No symptoms at all. Just did a precautionary inspection. The side walls of the Oil Pan look very solid to me but I agree that white area at the upper seal (base of power head) doesn't look so good. Still, in my opinion, these photos do not warrant pulling the boat and having the procedure...

Thanks. I posted my pictures on the hull truth and all who commented so far say I'm fine. Still looking for more opinions from folks who are experienced with this corrosion issue.

Pulled my two Lower Units today and took these pictures looking up the leg. These are Yamaha F250's Built in July 2005. Model F250TXR and LF250TXR. 712 Hours. Used on West Coast in colder waters from Santa Barbara to San Francisco. Photo 084 = Starboard which looks okay to me. Photo 094 = Port...

Replaced Halogen Cabin bulbs with LED in GW330express

Hey DiveDiva, Thank-you for sharing this. Really nice of you. I ordered and replaced 6 LED's in my cabin. Probably consuming less than one third of the amps I was before. Easy install.

    intro and 228 vs 232 vs 258

Fuel economy data on any New Boat Manufacturer, or Car Dealer for that matter, is always is very best case scenarios. I discount the data by 20 or 30% to get real world data. Better yet, talk to someone you trust who has the boat/engine combo you're looking for to get their "real world"...

    intro and 228 vs 232 vs 258

First off, all three are great choices with minor + and (-)'s between them. I purchased a 228 new and loved the thing. It has a F225 and regularly got 2mpg which is good for a boat that heavy. With the auxilary tank (discontinued after 2005 or 06 due to underwater scuppers when full), it had...

Opinion on 305 vs 330 Purchase?

I've owned my 330 for three years now and have also ridden on a 30 foot Marlin a few times. Yes, the 33 is a bigger, heavier, boat but you're not going to go out on a really rough day on either boat. The 305 Express is like a "mini me" of the 330 as is a 265 which I owned before the 330. What I...

    Beckson plates

I never liked the GW Pop Out deck plates as they were prone to leaking. I couple years ago, I replaced all of them with the Beckson screw down type in the same deck color as the originals. Now I'm bone dry underneath the deck plate.

Adding remote flush for generator and air conditioning

Thanks Steve for sharing. One comment - to do your flush procedure - where exactly is that manifold on your 330? It seems to be either right above the genset or over in the corner above your 4 batteries. Each location seems to be kinda out of the way and inconvenient to hook up a FW hose...

What can a gulf stream take

The dimensions of the Gulfstream are excellent. It's wide beam makes it a standout. It's relatively short length however will hinder it in large, choppy, head seas where it will pound. This is because the waterline length cannot "bridge" between the wave peaks like a longer hull will do...

Need input on the 330 Express, please!

I have owned my 2006 330 now for three years. Have 700 hours on the F250's and it has the diesel genset. Love the boat and would recommend it to anyone in a heartbeat. Definitely find one with the bow thruster - like auto pilot, I won't own a boat with one! On a 50 nautical mile trip of...
