    Washdown

have you had the hatch up yet? It could be a corroded mess. I replaced mine. I recommend adding a Tempress hatch in the deck hatch. Ditch the ridiculous 6" pie hole.

Tie off line with a windlass?

The windlass should not hold the boat nor pull the boat. The windlass is for taking up slack line and lifting an anchor after it is loose from the bottom.

    251 Coastal Explorer

16 degree V is great for backwater and lakes. Its not an SUV. redfish and sandbar drinking yes. Not going to be pleasant if you get caught offshore in a chop or swell. bang bang. 7" less freeboard to go along with the shallower draft. Less range for offshore. Less weight. What constitutes...

On my 265 the pos cables went to the battery switch on their side and the neg cable went straight to the battery on their side.

    New Suzukis

Those are some cylinders I've never seen before but they look like they go over the top so that gets the cylinders as high as they will go. No matter what you are trailerable...just that if possible, you want the lower unit out of the water when raised. I'm guessing your OX66s did not get out...

    New Suzukis

ditto on the fly by wire... much better. IMO mech controls in 2023 is like buying a car with hand crank windows and no AC. Consider 4 blade props 16 x 20 or 15.25 x22 You are probably using your existing steering. Single cylider and tie rod? or dual cylinder? The mounting of the...

    Garmin Navionics+ on GPSMAP chartplotters.

I was playing with Fishing Map Presets. I am a bit confused. After you choose a preset, how do you know which one you are in? When you turn On, what preset are you in? The last choice? How do you know? I was entering Depth shading for the 30 to 80 ft in 10 ft increments. Wanted to see if...

    2003 265X switches

Zuke gauges can connect up to 4 tanks. They can display them individually and display a bar representing all tanks. They also put the tank levels out on the N2k bus so you can see them on your MFD. Thats said, the gauges aren't any more accurate than the senders...

    265 break-in voyage

    SS Deck Chairs

Oh they make both. Add $30 for stainless. Very low, Very heavy and don't fold very well. great if you are running but not convenient for "hanging out" There are better versions out there with doubled feet...or at least there used to be... Funny thing, we broke all three of our deck chairs last...

    Repower 192 With Suzuki DF140BG?

I had a 2003 DF140 on a Wellcraft V20 (20 foot, 20 degree V hull Roughly 2000 pounds loaded. ) Great motor. Topped out ~38mph Great mpg! Great for ocean fishing because you rarely can go over 30mph anyways. No complaints. Ran it hard for 12 years and sold the boat to get my 265 If you are a...

Mini Fridge in a 232 Gulfstream?

I was gonna say get a plug in cooler. I removed the refrige from my 265 Express. Waste of space. Its in my shed next to the microwave. Fishboxes & Livewells are insulated. Hold ice better than in Igloo. What are you gonna keep cold? For how long? You gonna keep a 12 pack of beer? You'll drink...

Look this over. You’ll see they line up with my real world waypoints. sometimes the contours lineup with the rock piles sometimes they don’t so the soundings were done on different dates or years.

    Garmin Navionics+ on GPSMAP chartplotters.

My first sonar was an Eagle paper graph...X-15 I think I mentioned that back a ways in this thread that the shading is mostly based on old stuff and may be averaging and guestimating. The jersey coast has some really detailed NOAA bathymetry done and that is what is in certain parts of these...
