    Non Grady member, guilt?

Two boats ago I had an EdgeWater 248CX. It was an excellent boat. For its size handled seas solidl. No creaks or rattles. Only reason I sold it was it appreciated significantly. Great choice :thumbs up:

    222 Fisherman T top

I used G2 for T-top replacement for a previous boat. Removed the old canvas, sent it to them and they turned it around in a few days. Upgraded to the Sunbrella that has a rubber layer underneath which makes it completely waterproof and stopped the water intrusion into the electronics box. They...

Would it be worth it to move up?

Go for it! Life is too short to wish you’d bought a boat. As to the financial side of things, purchase of deprecating assets covers most luxury items bought to entertain ourselves. I never looked at it that way. I looked at it from the cost of ownership view and can I own and have fun with it...

    Panda Generator troubles

No, just going from experience with adding fire suppression systems to machine tools that use cutting oils for coolant. Our business was supplying machine tools to manufacturers and if they planned to use flammable oil in the machine we would purchase fire suppression systems for the machines...

    Panda Generator troubles

Just guessing, but usually fire suppression systems are purchased from an outside vendor, installed and interfaced to whatever it’s protecting. I don’t know what type it is but if there is a discharge canister it may have the vendors name on it you could use to get more information on...

    Bottom blasted

I like that your guy controlled the dust. I had bottom paint removed off an Edgewater and they used orbital sanders with 150 grit. I didn’t notice it when I picked the boat up, but when I put a removable cushion back in the boat it was plain to see that sanding dust had stained all the...

    Changing colors

Take it to your dealer and trade it:cool:

    Door Locked on Freedom 307

I think the keys to those are generic and not specific to your boat. Perhaps call a dealer and see if you can borrow one. As long as it’s for that brand lock it should open it.

    Steering is Stiff

Instead of adding the hydraulic steering boost pump the dealer quoted initially, I opted to upgrade the engine to digital electronic steering, so no hydraulic steering. Hard to steer both directions indicates a different problem than prop torque in only one direction. Perhaps unhook the motor...

    Steering is Stiff

I had a Sea Hunt with F250 and regular Sea Star hydraulic steering that over 4,000 rpm took some effort to steer to port and would easily steer to starboard. I chalked it up to prop steer and lived with it. I did try moving the lower unit anode fin around and it helped a bit, but it still took...

Smaller diameter wheels for the trailer.

    Panda out solar in?

The FP genny I had on a Back Cove had an underwater exhaust. Not sure if that system was standard or optional, but it cut the noise and smell quite effectively. Perhaps research to see if your genny has it and/or add it.

    Aft curtain

In the photo of your boat there are 3 SS screws that are in the underside of the cross bar, facing up. Perhaps those were for the female portion of the slider. Just guessing.…

    Aft curtain

Looks like that may be the type that the curtain has a male “slider” that slides in to female slots that are attached to your hard top.

Looking for a decent boat cover

Around here LaPortes is favored being local. Won’t be cheap, though.

2013 Freedom 285 Windshield Frame Repair?

When you are installing the glass in to the rubber channel, soap is your friend. Lube up both the inside of the rubber channel and the edge of the glass your inserting.

    Adventure 208 steering

Sea Star is a common brand. They also now have electric steering which should eliminate pull altogether.

    New steering wheel

Not bad for the thing you touch the most. My guess is it starts out as a stainless steel casting, so you need a tool and foundry. Lots of polishing after that, possible machining of the hub taper and rubber insert pockets. speaking of the insert, need those, so another tool, molding and...

    Freedom 215 rear seat backs

My guess is there’s a zipper on the underside, probably near the flap, but just a guess.

    Helene

For the most part it came through here last night. Gusts to 70, quite a few tornado warnings, lost power early a.m. for a few hours. Tide was higher than the recent king tides due to southeast wind blowing water up the rivers, but no intrusive flooding. So, just a big mess to clean up. I talked...
