    Potential Price of my Seafarer

I guess the question is what value is it to the forum to have you repeatedly state you don't need something? You can say "no offense" all you want, but what you are really doing is sort of shitting on someone else's project. Maybe I'm a big pussy, but your comments seem to run counter to the...

What have you done to your Grady lately?

I probably have already posted. I've got some stuff. A) I put on correct sized trim tabs. My 228 came with 9x12, I replaced those with 12x18 and holy shit, in our shitty Pacific ocean, the ride is so much better. I used to have to back off the throttle on every swell, now I roll over them...

    Potential Price of my Seafarer

We have different goals. I will be chasing bluefin in this boat and I had one goal: visibility. I got it in spades. I have 180 degrees of visibility through the windows. I will see jumpers out of my peripheral vision, something that would _never_ be possible through Eisenglass. As for the...

    Potential Price of my Seafarer

I beg to differ, I started with the hardtop and went to a pilot house, it is night and day better. MUCH better visibility, less clutter, looks great. I would have paid a lot more for my boat if this had been an option.

    Potential Price of my Seafarer

I'm the buddy with the pilot house, and yes, while expensive, it's really sweet. I agree with Peter, I think 40's as well.

    Grady 275 Freedom rolling issue

A few thoughts from a guy that hated the tabs and now loves them. First, what size tabs? My 228 came with 9x12 and those are sized for a 12 foot boat. I put in 12x18 and it is a *HUGE* difference. Make sure you have tabs that are sized for your boat. For 9 inch deep tabs, Bennett says an...

    ISO Seafarer Cabin Doors

When you do it, a couple of things: Obviously 316 stainless for the hinge and the latch (maybe reuse yours if in good shape?) If you've seen my other posts, you know that I have put deckadence "carpet" on my floor. If you are inclined to do the same, then leave about 3/4" off the bottom of...

    ISO Seafarer Cabin Doors

I think it would be pretty easy to get some starboard and make replacements. That might be your best bet. Anyone with a CNC router could cut the slats.

Slippery deck fix to ensure dads safety

I bought deckadence and installed that myself. It has a sticky back so it doesn't slide around and it's cushy on your feet. You can see my boat here: https://marineflooring.net/gallery/ - it's the 7th boat counting left to right. I *love* this stuff. My install is 2 piece, if you look...

Roller vs bunk for fisherman 222

One more vote for bunks. This topic came up before, I said bunks, and some wiser person did have a decent argument for rollers but I don't remember what it was. Nevermind, I found it. Rollers are better in shallow water. So imagine a lake launch and the lake gets deeper very slowly, you have...

    Yamaha 200 V6 2 stroke

A friend of mine has a 1999 225, had a similar problem. He replaced the fuel pumps, cleaned the O2 sensor and one other thing, and his is back to normal. He's on here, I'll nudge him to fill in the details.

    282 sailfish value

I've seen those go for around $60K. Really depends on how it surveys. I'm biased, that's my dream boat, if Grady still made those I'd own a new one.

    Radar observation

When Johnson-Hicks mounted my radar on my hard top, they mounted it pretty level. When Charlie Hicks (no relation) did my pilot house, he did about a 6 inch tower for the radar and tipped it down towards the bow about 4 or 5 degrees. Holy smokes, what a difference! Before, I didn't see...

    Scotty Downrigger

I've got a 2020 228 (same year so likely same rod holders) and I've used Scotty downriggers and puller in the rod holders. People tell you they are not strong enough and people are wrong. I had a crab pot get tangled in an abandoned fishing net (big one, commercial) and we had 2 200 pound...

    Complaint

Not sure if you are trolling or serious. GreatGrady is one of the best boating related forums out there. People are welcoming, polite, nice, and know a ton. It's literally the best forum I've been on and I've been on truck forums, gun forums, motorcycle forums, fishing forums, photography...

    Cockpit Trim Panel Gulfstream 232

I'd search this site, I feel like someone used the old one as a mold and made a new one.

What is a 228 windshield worth?

Yep. But I live on 19 acres, storing it until someone wants it is not a problem.

What is a 228 windshield worth?

JJMag is my buddy, we're talking about the same person. He's the guy that got $5K for windshield and $3K for the hard top.

What is a 228 windshield worth?

I think more than that. A friend of mine had a pilot house done on his 228 so he sold his. The guy who bought had insurance so they agreed that whatever the insurance would pay out, my friend would get. He got $4800 and that was a few years ago.
