    Seafarer Waste Pump

As far as the foot rests, I don’t understand why Grady didn’t install the helm foot rest at the same location as the copilot foot rest. I guess so that you can stand and steer but I’m going to move the helm foot rest this winter and modify so it sits level so my feet don’t hang as well.

    Seafarer Waste Pump

This is the new pump that I just put in my 1999 228 Seafarer back in May, it matched perfectly with the original pump

Whats the best Grady of all time?

I’ve owned a 228 Seafarer for less than a year but it took me 5 years to find the right one. I have had guys with 208’s and Overnighters asking me to sell mine to them, the 228 seams to be a desirable size up here on the West Coast in British Columbia

    Seafarer 228 Electronics

Wow too cool, I was thinking of something similar for my new Lowrance HDS12 install earlier this year. I wanted to remove the electronics box door and install similar as you did but was hesitant to hack up the box edge to get it to fit , so I chickened out for this season but will rethink that...

New to me 228 seafarer, outboard height questions.

This is an interesting thread as I have a similar situation on my project 228 that I bought without power late last year. The pod horns were broken so I had my son in law fabricate a bracket to bolt onto the pod. I found an extra long leg Suzuki DF250 so we made the bracket taller, I thought I...

How Secure a Danforth Style Anchor in the Anchor Lockerr

Well that’s a great question and something I never thought to try being new to a Grady and pulpit. I just assumed that the anchor stayed in the anchor locker until needed as I can’t see having the chain laying on the top of the pulpit what not in use and chipping the gel coat. But I would love...

    Replacement Screw Covers

I was wondering If someone may know where I can find replacement screw covers for around the switch panel and other areas in the cockpit? Mine are pretty brittle from the sun and many caps are missing, thanks, Don

How Secure a Danforth Style Anchor in the Anchor Lockerr

I’m going to use a rubber bungy strap for the long arm of the anchor and just duct tape the wings to stop those from banging on the metal bracket

How Secure a Danforth Style Anchor in the Anchor Lockerr

Here are pictures of the anchor in the locker from above and from within the cuddy, it looks like the wings of the anchor were hitting that metal bracket that secures the bow eye and the cleat on the pulpit

How Secure a Danforth Style Anchor in the Anchor Lockerr

A picture would be great, I never thought about which direction to place it in the clips but I will test that. I thought a bungy cord wrapped around the metal bracket used for the bow eye and the top cleat on the pulpit should hold it was swinging in the locker and hitting anything, thanks

How Secure a Danforth Style Anchor in the Anchor Lockerr

It’s a 1999 and yes the anchor is locked in across the top, I did put a triangular piece of rubber at the bottom as the chain was wedged into the drain hole at the bottom and I had to go into the cuddy to pull the chain to free it. I’m sure the sound I’m hearing is the anchor rocking in the...

How Secure a Danforth Style Anchor in the Anchor Lockerr

Hello, I was hoping to get some advice on how to secure the anchor in the anchor locker on my 228 Seafarer. I bought a Kimpex 9lb Danforth style anchor and chain and hung it in the anchor locker. I went out fishing yesterday on the east coast of Vancouver Island and while heading back to the...

Grady White - Help with Model Choices

I just recently acquired a 1999 228G Seafarer from an insurance sale without power. The boat was written off because the owner hit a log and tore the outboard off the pod. I had to fabricate a bracket to bolt onto the pod to hang the main engine. It took me 5 years to find a suitable boat...

    Toilet Question/Need Advice

I did find the toilet breaker on my Seafarer in the starboard storage compartment in the cuddy, which I have now replaced . I never found the main house electrical Breaker but did install a New 40amp Blue Sea on the inside of the transom now

    Yamaha height on a 228

I bought my 228 Seafarer back in December without power and the horns on the pod for the upper bolts were broken from an impact. I bought a used ultra long leg Suzuki and began to fabricate a bracket to bolt onto the pod after I removed the horns flush to the top of the pod. I was told from many...

Interesting I have leaks in my wing windows on my Seafarer so I’m also interested in finding replacements for those as well.
