Trailering - motors up or down?

Another vote for the m-y wedge. I've used one for years.

    flush mount material

Acrylic/plexi or carbon fiber looks the best in my opinion. Starboard is the easiest to work with, but it does ripple a bit in high heat environments.

    Bottom paint color suggestions.

Why not black? Anything lighter in color will look dingy pretty quick.

    cost of trailer

I’ve had Loadmaster, Float On, and Owens over the years. All are in the same price range. Personal preference is the Owens.

    New VHF Options

Blaugrana, who had it for $172? Cheapest I've seen is about $220. Still a decent deal, but if there is someone else out there.......

    225 Tournament, biggest GPS? HDS12?

The newer 225s have a bigger box. You should be able to get the 12 in there, but it will be tight. I know you don’t want to lose the storage, but you might consider flush mounting it in a piece of acrylic or carbon fiber. It will fit comfortably that way.

Towing with Bimini top - Freedom 225

As KY said, pop the support poles out from the mounts and fold it down into the boat.

    225 Tournament/Freedom Questions

Like Koby, I have the old style 225. Running the boat standing up is fine. I'm 6'3" and can do it without being hunched over. Where you run into trouble with some DCs is when they use a side mount throttle. At speed, the throttle is too low if you are standing up. I owned a 205 and sold it...

    Shakespeare Mariner 8500 antenna

The 8500 is the same antenna as the Shakespeare 5225 XT. It’s just branded for West Marine. It will work just fine for your application. The Digital 529 has the advantage of the mini connector already installed on the coax which makes installation easier since you don’t have to attach a...

    2021 Adventure 208 Build

I too am looking for a wireless charger that can keep up. That one is pricey though at $100+ on Amazon. Curious how well it works.

    Rain Water entering bilge

I have a custom Sunbrella cover, and still a substantial amount of water finds its way, at times, into the bilge. It's getting in there while the boat is on the trailer, because if I pull the drain plug immediately after I pull up the launch ramp, very little water comes out. I think(??) I...

Does a 20 ft Overnighter have a fuel shutoff and gas tank drain?

In the old days, we all disconnected the fuel line at the motor and let it run until the motor quit. Whether that was good or bad, who knows, but it was the accepted practice. I think the last motor I had that had a quick disconnect fuel line was a mid-80s OMC V4 on the back of a 17 Aquasport...
