Here's my 11" Lowrance in the 226 box. Room to spare.

I’ll find a pic of mine and post it up. 1/4” acrylic or starboard works perfectly. Basically it mimics the size of the door opening. 8 screws holds it in place.

i too am in the flush mount camp. When I owned a 226, I put an 11” Lowrance in there and had room to spare. A 12” Simrad should fit. Access to the back of the unit on that boat is easy. The box flips down from the rear from inside the cuddly.

Any interest in the pre-2003 style? You give up the walk in head compartment, but gain a bigger cockpit.

GW only lets you buy from your geographically designated dealer for new model year boats. Once it’s a model year old, any dealer can sell to anyone. Start searching for a leftover 2020. If your local dealer doesn’t want to do a dealer trade, hit the road.

I'm pretty sure that tach doesn't have a water-in-fuel indicator. If you are in limp mode, it's either due to overheating or low oil. How much oil is in the tank and motor reservoirs?

Every 223/225/226/228 that I’ve owned has had this same issue. I solved the problem every time by removing the door and going with a flush mount panel with the electronics installed in it. Easier to read the GPS and FF that way, too.

The 4 cylinder F200 is the way to go here. Weight about the same.

Seasick beat me to it....that chain setup won’t hold the boat if you have to stop short. Go with a shackle and hook on some heavier galvanized chain.

If you reverse it, does the winch have a pawl that will allow it to retrieve when the handle is cranked the other way? Otherwise, your cranking will be letting the strap out, not retrieving it.

FMT, RDS (in Perry FL) etc all have the specs. Besides the tank, you will need a fill and vent assembly and hose as well as needing to cut a hole next to the existing fill to add the second fill. You will also need to plumb the second tank to a Y-valve in the bilge near the fuel filter, which...

I think Greyduk nailed it. Looks like the outside flange from the battery switch....or a previous battery switch.

Looks correct to me....only thing I might do, if you can, is to raise the winch stand a bit so you get a straight pull. That appears to be one of those kooky Pacific Trailers winch stands....never understood why they mount them upside down like that.

Big fan of Buff Magic here....easy to work with and gives great results. Also good for removing paint scratches off the fender of the truck when you scrape the garage wall. Don't ask me how I know.......

If you get a Bimini you will be fine. With a hardtop it’s going to be close......

Assuming you can get by the exhaust issue and the t-stats, no reason not to consider it because it's a LH (counter) engine. Just have to prop it with a counter rotating prop.
