    A question about trailers

That winch stand design is weird. As others have said a 7K trailer is the right size. I put a new 7K under mine 2 months ago. Crazy the difference in price too.

    A question about trailers

That winch stand is a hokey design, but it appears to me that it was never tightened properly. When properly tightened, you can crank it on and it won’t move. A bow chain and transom straps are critical to keep the boat from landing in your back seat in a panic stop. That’s why they are a...

Are you trying to remove the entire assembly and replace it, or just replace the rubber insert?

Can someone tell me what this is?

They sold a bow cover but never a tonneau or cockpit cover. In fact, only in the last few years has GW started offering cockpit covers as a factory option. I've always had them made custom.....and they ain't cheap.....

Can someone tell me what this is?

Nope. The hooks hold the bimini top when it's not in use. I speak from experience....first GW I ever owned as an '86 190 Tournament. :)

    Stainless Steel Fuel filter/water separators

That's a good deal....mine was rather junky looking, and I was about to order a SS one until I saw the price. Instead I gave mine 2 coats of flat black rust-oleum and a new set of SS screws to mount it. Looks brand new now. :)

New guy here with a few questions about a 228 Seafarer

When I owned a 228, I had it weighed. With about 140 gallons of fuel, hardtop, gear etc it weighed 6500 including a 6.5” I beam aluminum trailer. The 7K GVW trailer fits it perfectly.

97 Adventure 208 Helm Cushion replacements

I just did a quick search on eBay and there are some for sale. You can also buy the entire chair and cushions but it gets pricey. I'd call the local dealer and see who they recommend for upholstery work. You should be able to get replacements made for $150-$200 each, I would guess.

    New seats. Tournament 19

Can you post a pic? If they are the factory seats but just need new cushions you have some options. GW used pedestal seats from Wise up until about 2001. They switched to Pompanette after that.

    Windlass Installation

You can do it without a pulpit. My 225 has it mounted directly in front of the anchor locker door. I’ll pull the cover off and take some pics tonight.

    Cleaned today, splash tomorrow,,,,

Looks like beautiful weather and water. Maybe it’s the ability to social distance, or maybe it’s the new-to-me boat, but I looked today and I’ve put 37 hours on it since I picked it up on April 10. Considering there have been some summers where 50 hours was considered heavy use, I will blow by...

New guy here with a few questions about a 228 Seafarer

7000 GVW which is 2 3500 lb axles. A fully loaded and fueled 228 on an aluminum trailer will scale out about 6400 including the weight of the trailer. Get one with 6.5 I-Beams. Some of the trailer manufacturers use 5.5 I beam in that size. It’s a couple hundred bucks more but provides more...
