    Trailering with vinyl up?

In my old boat with a Vista top, I trailered and stored with it down always. My current boat with hardtop the fronts are always off but I leave the sides on.

    Trailer Slides

Dennis has a good point. If you have the 6"x2" bunks the supplied screws will eventually pop up as the bunks get old . I have aluminum bunks and I used heavy duty S/S pop rivets . No problem in 9 years.

    Trailer Slides

I used them for years and they are very good, she will slide almost like rollers . Careful not to unhook the strap before the trailer is in the water , you may scratch the concrete.

What livewell pump is in a modern (2020) Marlin?

Yes you have to remove the livewell, not hard. Take the lid off then the screws that hold the tank down. Undo the drain and filler hoses.. I find it harder working on the bilge, you either need to be very small person ( child) to get in the bilge or have very long skinny arms, small head helps too.

What livewell pump is in a modern (2020) Marlin?

This is in my 2013 228G , I can't say she is silent but she does the job with some noise . I have a timer so she goes on and off . I can vary duration with a variable switch depending on the amount of livies in the tank.

Another post on props 228 Seafarer F225

I run a 17" pitch on my 228 with a 250 hp 4.2 Yamaha, I get close to 6000 RPM wot on calm water trimmed out with heavy loads. 3.3L has 2.0 gear ratio 4.2L has 1.75 gear ratio. I'm sure Dennis meant a 17" pitch not diameter.

    Trip anticipation

She is like a mirror KY, have a good trip, hopefully you catch some fish too. Summer the easiest way to tell she is not a post 2012 model is the outboard bracket and the swim platform. S/S rub rail looks good but the rubber/plastic is more practical in my opinion and I had both.

1999 Gulfstream with twin HPDI 200's on a factory Armstrong bracket.

From what you describe your engines are mounted too low . Do you know the gear ratio on the OX66 and the HPDI? Are they both 1.86? If yes they should perform about the same with the same props. What RPM do you get at WOT with the DPDIs? What did you get with the OX66? Do you know how healthy...

Finally a Grady White owner and finally got her back home safely...

Mustang65fbk, You can easily find out if they changed the motor or repaired it. All you have to do is ask Chris the engine number and compare the two.

    sealed batteries???

That's my main concern besides cost. I would think cost will come down in time.

Upgrade to hydraulic or electric steering systems

The AP44 kit you ordered doesn't look like it has any hoses or cables to connect to the computer. You will need a couple of T's as well. You can T off at the helm or the Electric pump. It is a good idea to use a clear hose for the return line so you can always see if you have air in the system...

New Grady White 228 Seafarer owner with a couple of questions...

I use Sikaflex 291 but you can use any good marine sealant , I find 3M products very good . I don't know if you can buy the plates from Scotty, I made them myself, primed and painted them. They don't get wet there, a bit overboard painting them . I would buy new speakers about the same size as...

Finally a Grady White owner and finally got her back home safely...

I understand you get better mileage if you drive for economy. I just questioned this: Are you sure you got 10MPG on the trip? I meant average mileage for the whole trip. I was a little surprised he got 10 MPG towing on a gas V8 box truck with a 3 t trailer behind it.

Finally a Grady White owner and finally got her back home safely...

Epic trip, good work getting her home in one piece. Considering the time it took and the cost I think I would have paid someone to do it. I can understand your concerns about damage though. Are you sure you got 10MPG on the trip? Gas V8 engine? I would have thought you use more gas than that...

New Grady White 228 Seafarer owner with a couple of questions...

I have mine mounted on the top of the gunwales and I use the tilt/swivel bases . I mounted the bases with the 4 bolts and 5 mm Aluminum plate underneath. The gunwale is cored , make sure you seal the holes . I would replace the speakers with something similar to avoid drilling more holes.
