    Paint on Cushions?

Depending on what paint she used hot water could soften the paint ( close to boiling point) and then easier to remove. Looking at the cover that the paint has lifted, she didn't prepare the vinyl before painting, should be easier to remove.

[Question Answered - not going to risk it] Seafarer 228 w/ 7,000 lb towing capacity?

When he does he should unhook it from the ball-mount, the only way that he will know the actual boat/trailer weight. Mustang I agree with you in saying the difference between his 228 and any other 228 both with or without hardtop and similar fuel and gear would be very close weight. There is no...

[Question Answered - not going to risk it] Seafarer 228 w/ 7,000 lb towing capacity?

I think I know why his boat/trailer is only 5520 lb. That's the boat/trailer weight hitched on the towbar he probably has 500+lb on the towbar. The vehicles weight 6480 lb, I'm not familiar with the Canyon's weight but it should be a lot less than that unless he had a big load . The weight I...

[Question Answered - not going to risk it] Seafarer 228 w/ 7,000 lb towing capacity?

My 2013 228 with hardtop and I beam aluminum trailer with some fishing gear and full tanks of fuel and water weighed 3100 kg (6820 lb) , if you have a hardtop and Galvanised trailer yours will be close to mine as well. The older hull is a little lighter but the gal trailer makes up . I tow with...

    Bleeding Simrad RPU160

You should be able to bleed the system at the cylinder bleed valve . Feed the fluid on the helm open the bleed valve while you are turning the steering ( 2 people is easy) . You should have a clear tube on the return ( none pressure), so you cab see the bubbles. You have to make sure the helm...

Motor hole position on a bracket 228

I get 6000 trimmed out on calm water. I tried different props, Merc Enertia 17" the best overall, Enertia 18" very good too. The only reason I run the Yam 17" saltwater II, She reverses better, 4 blade Merc Vensura was good for that as well. I may add that this boat with the longer bracket...

    Gil Inspection plate parts

There are two ways you can go about it . On the stripped threads enlarge the holes so the screws fit easy and make little aluminum plates drill and tap then epoxy the plates on the inside . The other option drill larger holes tap them and buy bigger bolts to suit .

Motor hole position on a bracket 228

Smoky, Mine is 2013 4.2, 250hp, factory fitted on the second hole from the top. It may or may not be relevant to your boat because mine has the later model bracket that is longer and more volume so it may have more buoyancy. Mine looks about right but if I used the boat mostly on calm water, I...

    Livewell Help Please

Lower pressure yes but generally higher volume and require much lower current (less amps) to pump the same amount of water . That makes them ideal for livewells. I agree with the minimum amount of water required to keep them alive . I disagree that they will drown by constantly supplying more...

Pros and Cons of Seacock thru-hull check valve...

Mine is always dirty when fishing, if it wasn't for the deck wash she would be totally covered in blood . We bleed and gut dollies as soon as they come on the deck then straight on ice. The guts keep the birds busy so they don't chase our bait. These are on the deck just for the picture. I...

If that is so you don't need a check valve . I would second that His boat is spotless .

Zipwake Trim Tabs - Express 330 or similar

I don't have them on my boat and I can't offer any input as to how well they will work on yours. I was on a friends boat a couple weeks ago, a 23' aluminum, he fitted them about 6 months ago. They worked very well, as they claim they do, on a rough Pacific with quarter sea, I was impressed. I...

    Dome light

My light is on the way , currently held up in Honolulu, I should have it this Thursday. First of all, I would say the product is excellent and worked as it should for 8 years until some moisture got to it and the touch switch played up. I don't think anyone could complain as it is used in harsh...
