Outboard shaft length? The model number on the old motors contains the code for the length. Wasn't this question asked and answered recently?

CL7 Freedom 235 engine display blinking fuel

On my 208 with the command link gauges, one solid bar (when it changes from two bars to one bar) equals about 20 gallons in the tank. That is about 1/4 of a tank so the eight bars don't represent eights of a tank. When that one bar starts to flash, I have about 10 gallons of gas left but I...

In that case, your bolts don't look that bad:)

CL7 Freedom 235 engine display blinking fuel

I don't know your year but assuming it has a 115 gal tank and the gauge works correctly AND the tank is relatively level to the water line, you probably have at least 8 gallons on the low estimate and 19 gallons on the high side. The key thing to note is that as mentioned, the angle of the tank...

    salt water washdown pump

Separate thrus and seacocks are preferable but if the boat doesn't have a raw water system and therefore no thru hull, it is easier to use one of the existing pickups like the livewell for the source of sea water Here is an example of a pump with a second takeoff...

    Re Do Stanchion Bases?

The bolts don't look all that bad. If the bases are not loose and not oozing rust runs, I would leave them alone.

CL7 Freedom 235 engine display blinking fuel

It means its time to gas up:) By the laws of physics, and the nature of the hull's attitude, the level displayed on the gauge is not very accurate . Just moving yourself or a passenger aft or forward can change the displayed amount. It is far more accurate to program and calibrate the CL7 for...

Now have photos -- Seeking help with how to replace windshield wiper on Freedom 235

Referring to the second photo. There is a dot that is a raised 'key' that slid into the clip and into the hole. The clip itself has a raised lip to the left of the dot. Try prying it with a small screw driver to make the locking 'dot' separate, in other words the dot should start to depress as...

    salt water washdown pump

I suppose the model year would help. Nevertheless is the livewell aft between the aft seats? Does currently work? If so locate the pump in the bilge and see if it is mounted to a seacock. It may already be a dual outlet type.

    282 sailfish or 300 Marlin

I know a few folks who have twin 225s/250s on their Marlins and they have no complaints ( except for the exhaust corrosion problem:)) Personally, the layout of the helm seems crowded to me for such a 'big' boat.

    salt water washdown pump

a little more info would help:) The biggest issue is the raw water source plumbing. If you have a live well that has a pump connected to a seacock, it may be possible to tap into that water source. One easy way is to swap the livewell pump for a dual outlet model. The second output then...

    2021 306 Canyon Anchor Chain

I am a bit confused. Is the problem during deployment or during retrieving? Can you post a picture of your splice especially if that is where the line hangs up. Your windlass specs should include a number for the amount of drop you need to have in your locker. Let's say it is 10 inches. If your...

    2021 306 Canyon Anchor Chain

Thought 1: you added chain? Did you check that the added chain is the correct spec for your windlass? Did you keep the old chain and add more chain to it? If so how did you splice the new chain and rode to the old chain. Thought 2; As your line (not chain) ages it tends to get stiffer. The...

The saddle mount is easy to identify. It uses a small bolt and nut to attach the blade to the arm. the other types of mounts look like the type on your auto. Note that there are narrow saddle and wide saddle versions. The best bet is to take the blade to the store. to compare. NAPA is a good...

I used to but ANCO but recently ( during and right after Covid issues) I have had a hard time finding ANCO wipers in stock. I haven't checked lately though. If you boat is salt or brackish waters, you want stainless steel wipers. Many of the SS wipers with what is called a saddle mount (uses a...

1994 Mercrusier 350 Mag ECT bravo closed cooling system

Assuming that the motor did not overheat before the grounding and was properly winterized ( if in freezing climates) but does overheat after the grounding, I would feel strongly that you sucked up sand or gunk into the outdrive. The impeller in the outdrive and or the pumps in the motor may be...

1994 Mercrusier 350 Mag ECT bravo closed cooling system

What kind of bottom did you run aground on? If hard, you may have broken something If soft, you may have clogged up your raw water intake. The antifreeze on the deck is worrisome. Hopefully it was over heating overflow and not something cracked. You can check the pickup flow on the lift by...
