I recently went through this math. My 228 with the 250 is around 5300 with full gas (114 gallons) and full fresh water, I don't remember the gallons there. That is just the boat. A 7000 pound GVWR trailer is perfect, it is very close to the limit, I think the total was north of 6500 but 7K works.

My 228 is pretty peppy with the 250. I've come home on relatively flat days at 40mph. I haven't tried to push it faster than that, 40 is moving right along. :cool:

Unless I haven't found them, my 228 didn't come with keys to lock the cabin. Are those keys like tractor keys where they are all the same? Or are they specific to each boat?

Are you guys commercial? And link to the youtube channel please. And yes, I can see how that works, if you and your dad are helping and 3 guys fishing, that's a no brainer, that cockpit is plenty big for that.
