    Fuel Tank Size

I think we all need to do what we are comfortable with and I certainly wouldn't hold it against anyone if they disagreed with me... but because we're nowhere near the tank - being topsides - there's really no risk since the flame has zero chance of reaching the tank (plus, gas fumes sink)...

    Panda out solar in?

Your boat's first "trip" is a long one! In most cases, the exhaust is blown away from the boat by even the lightest wind and there is no smell in the cockpit. Of course, anchoring off the bow is a key component to that! :) As noted above, though, what items do you want to run with the Genny...

    Electric boat trailer winch

Oh, gosh, yes. Whether using the han dcrank or letting the motor do the work... painfully slow.. especially if you have a heavier duty model and are using the pulley to double the pulling power..... and halving the pulling speed ;) I made a up a simple extension cord with a winch plug at one...

    Fuel Tank Size

Good luck! That's the main thing you will need ;) But seriously, if you start unscrewing and it doesn't feel right, here are some ideas - I'm sure others can add onn... -- Let some penetrating fluid seep in there -- Heat the screw head, try more fluid -- Try screwing it back in an 1/8 turn...

    Fuel Tank Size

On a tangential note... since this boat is quite old and new to you... and assuming (for now) that you don't know the history of whether or not the tank has been replaced... It would be very, VERY advisable to pull the hatch (it's just screws and caulk) and inspect it REALLY good to get a...

    Fuel Tank Size

The old brochures on GW's site will have that info... but if there was an option for tank size, then you won't have a definitive answer. Plus, the boat is over 3 decades old and it may have been replaced. So, really, the only accurate way to figure this out is to look at the plate. Next best...

    Electric boat trailer winch

Could probably easily make an adapter to fit where the manual handle normally attaches. Never tried it - not sure how much torque would be needed

    Electric boat trailer winch

Oh, the good thing you have going for you is it's not a heavy boat - so that will help keep the price down. Can you power load (engine under power) at your ramp? If so, at least keep some engine power on - which will make hand winching easier. And that's free!

Did you try calling that dealership and asking? It seems like a 5 minute phone call would clear it up.

    Electric boat trailer winch

Powerwinch is pretty much the most popular - Dutton, Reese are other good brands. There's nothing too special here - just make sure it's rated for your boat weight, or more. You can go cheaper if you want, but you know how that can go.

    Poly fuel tanks….

Look at your tank - there's an ID tag on it. Who built it? Contact them and then find a retailer. Or just find a plastic tank that is close enough. Moeller, as noted above, would by first go-to.

    Aft curtain

Oh, so that's NOT an aft curtain... it's a cockpit cover. That would explain it! :)

    2024 Marlin Trim Tabs

I don't exactly know... but did the hull design change over the years? Are you looking at different model years?

    Prop advice

Is the hull bottom perfectly clean? Were you trimming up as high as you can go without ventilating? Yamaha makes very good props - both in metallurgy and engineering. If it turns out that 18M is correct, just get it repaired. Down in Florida there's probably a prop shop on every corner...

    Replacing gas shocks. Help requested...

That's good to hear. It's been years since I've had a need to contact them, but I recall them being very helpful in the past. Good to see they still are!

    Aft curtain

Oh, so you're ACTUALLY saying that you don't have a slider OR DOT fasteners? OK, that's different than your first post. And that first picture is NOT your boat? Your first post is confusing with what you wrote in the second post. Are you also saying that you do not have the female slider on...

    Replacing gas shocks. Help requested...

Chris, if you don't have any luck with email, let me know - I'd be glad to make a quick call for you. It sounds like you work in the boat business like I do - it's an easy call for me to make.

    Replacing Compartment Doors.

I didn't mean "simply" as in Starboard is basic or cheap. Just that the MATERIAL it is made from is HDPE. There are other brands of HDPE that are quite similar to Starboard. Taco Metals, for one. Marcus is in Canada and had never heard of that brand but seems familiar with HDPE. So I simply...
