One thing to keep in mind is that boat has a 20" transom. The 190 didn't go to a 25" transom until '98. If you are used motor shopping, keep that in mind.

They may not be salvage boats...just simply Florida boats that have sat out in the sun and salt air. I am also one that has found a number of good deals on Florida boats....they just need TLC.

Is it safe to assume the seacock is open? If it's closed, the pump will run but you won't get any water.

The tick is normal. The mechanical hourmeter advances in tenths, and that ticking sound is the tenths advancing. Working as designed....

I rigged electronics on a couple of 208s....they were brutal. Then add to the fact that one was a '99 with the smaller electronics door and it made it even worse. As I recall, I had to pull the gauge panel above it just to get my hands in there. Now a 226/228 with the flip down access? Easy...

We messed around with a 170 Tournament years ago. It had a 115 on it. I wouldn't go any less than a 90. Also, I'm pretty sure that's a 20" transom. Make sure and look for a 20" motor so you don't have to jack plate it after the fact.
