How many folks here have met in person?

Smoky - you forgot the time you chased me down on the St Johns River near Blue Springs. True story, JiminGA saw me going the other way on the freeway here in Atlanta about an hour ago and called to catch up. We once owned almost twin Seafarers. A ton of good people on here...

    Tow Vehicle

I once pulled a 232 with a Tahoe. The tail was wagging the dog. A boat that size needs a 2500.

    Axle repaired!

Oil bath is a type of hub....they didn't give your bearings an oil bath. I'm guessing they replaced two of the hubs with new oil bath hubs. Over the road trailers use oil baths with good luck....I'm not a big fan of them for boat trailers as if they develop a leak, you lose all the fluid and...

    Okay, need a shakedown list

It's going to be a crazy weekend...holiday doesn't help and the ongoing relaxation of stay at home orders has made the waterways around here crazy. If you can get to the ramp early then you can have a little more time without folks honking at you. Get everything ready out of the way before...

    Water in the gasoline

I'm with Seasick on this one....way too much water for condensation. Water is either getting in past the Sender (possible), past the O-ring on the filler cap (possible) or from a station that sold contaminated product. (more likely). If there is that much water in your tanks, the only way to...

    Question on seat cushion construction

They look good to me, but I get your desire to sweat the details. I'd like to call these guys about new fishbox seat cushions and seat back bolsters for the bow. Can you either post, or PM me the contact info?

    Axle repaired!

You are running a model 10 actuator. Your brakes are surge. Only connection to the truck is through the 5 flat plug that has a reverse output to the blocking solenoid. Measure the bottom of the I Beam to flat ground at the front of the trailer and at the back. As long as you have less than...

    Another Battery Question

I’ve done it too. I do what Sparkdog does now - grab a long zip tie and thread it through each lug as you remove them. When you get ready to reinstall, they will all be together so you don’t inadvertently miss one

    VHF Radios

Hodges has the 1850 without the GPS for $190 and the one with the GPS (1850G) for $204. For that price you can't beat it.

192 tournament walk thru windshield hinge broken

Do the clips that hold the windshield to the hinge look like this? If so, they are part number 09910 from Taylor Made Systems. I just ordered 2 replacements for my walk through windshield today. Their customer service / order email is tms@taylormadesystems.com

Looks good neighbor....good thing you got out when you did...not looking great for this weekend.

    VHF Radios

You don't need a second AIS radio if you already have one. Assuming you already have an N2K backbone in the boat, S/H makes a N2K VHF (without the built in GPS) that can be had for less than $200. BUT - if you shop smart, you can find the N2K radio with the built in GPS for about $15 more...

    Old GW questions

Technically not until '98. While the 192 and everything bigger than it was SeaV2 by 1994, the 175 Spirit hung around until it was replaced by the 180 Sportsman in '98. The 180 completed the SeaV2 transformation, and from personal experience is a great 18' CC. I miss mine.

    Axle repaired!

I should have looked up the price of a model 10 with solenoid....more like $500. in any event, as others have said, that’s probably where the issue lies.

I am considering a mechanical fuel gauge on top of fuel tank

Welcome to the forum. A quick call to GW customer service at 252-752-2111 will get you the answer. if you are concerned about accuracy, swap the sender for a WEMA that is custom cut to the depth of the tank. Connect it to your fuel gauge in the speedo. Or, better yet, consider a fuel flow...
