    New and Need LOTS OF HELP {PLESASE}

Sounds like the fuel pumps in your engine might be going bad. There's two of them, about $35 a piece. Replace both. Should take about 30 minutes. Since you said the boat was neglected, I would also clean the carbs, replace all the filters, empty and clean the oil tanks and change the filter...

    BIlge pump float switch

I was able to get a new blue Sure Bail switch through Boatfix in Mar 2011. I had to contact their customer service dept. to see if it was available though as it wasn't in their online catalog. They told me they were adding it to the catalog, but I'm not sure if it's still available. Part...

Re: 1986 Seafarer 227 Repairs, Updates and Upgrades - 2/24/1 Bye bye Mercruiser... Next step will be figuring out how to tackle filling in the hole. I have some ideas but I need to run them by some guys that know way more than I do to make sure I'm on the right track.

    1986 Seafarer 227: 5/6/14 Update - Stringer extension prep

Re: 1986 Seafarer 227 Repairs, Updates and Upgrades And the bracket conversion begins... I'm a glutton for punishment. With a pending sale on the engine and drive, I started derigging the motor and preparing to pull everything out. Started at 6:30 PM last Sunday by running the gas out of...

    Replacement Fuel Tanks

If you are dead set on using poly tanks, I would get two identically sized ones and just one run to each motor. Or you could also install a fuel manifold which would allow both motors to pull from either tank. Bed careful with that though as I seriously doubt a single 3/8" line could feed...

    1985 Seafarer hull replacement

I have heard of a similar instance where a late 80s/very early 90s pre-SeaV2 Gulfstream went back to the factory for hull replacement. If my memory serves, the hull and cap were split and the cap was set on a new hull. Not surew how the HIN was addressed though. The '85 and '92 Seafarer had...

    Trailer for 265 express

I had a tandem under my old 25' Sailfish and it was fine. That hull was very close in dimensions and weight to the 265.

2000 GW GulfStream water in engine bracket???

How much fuel are you carrying and how is it distributed between the main and aux tanks? Here's how my old Sailfish used to sit with a pair of 225s...light on fuel. I seldom had any fuel in the aux. tank, which was 50 gal and just aft of the main tank. I would

    1986 Seafarer 227: 5/6/14 Update - Stringer extension prep

Re: 1986 Seafarer 227 Repairs, Updates and Upgrades Nothing real exciting to report. Spent last week prepping to slide the trailer under the boat. Took all four wheels off, removed all of the caked on bearing grease, gave them a good scrub and had them balanced. Anyone that tells...

    New to me Grady

Pull the motor and replace the aluminum trim lining the engine cutout. Make sure it is very well caulked....or glass over the joint. Get some trim tabs if she doesn't already have them. Good luck with the boat. I had an '85 204 Fisherman and loved it.

    Repowering my 1986 20' overnighter

Something is wrong. I had the same motor on my '85 20' Fisherman and could get over 100 miles on 40 gallons. Check your setup, prop, engine tune, etc.

Mid 80s would be my guess. SeaV2 19 never got an I/O.

    Transom Issues

Delmarva is loaded with competent builders and repair shops. Composite Yacht is very highly regarded and people speak highly of Judge Yachts as well. That being said, I've seen a transom that was rebuilt by Judge and was not at all impressed. That could have been a fluke as I have heard...

    Upgrade to 8" deckplates?

I pretty much decided against it based solely on the fact that the bigger plates looked funny in the hatches. I was hoping they would be OK because there was some cracking of the glass/gelcoat from bad coring that the increased diameter would have covered up and I wouldn't have had to do any...

    HOW TO: Replicating Diamond Non-Skid

Anything that stays pliable would probably work better than the bedliner...especially if you are thinking of using it more than once. Gelcoat is available in two forms: paste and liquid. For spray application, buy the liquid and thin it accordingly.
