All I did to get the texture was thin it less. 1 ml of acetone per ounce of gelcoat for the textured areas, 6 ml of acetone per ounce of gelcoat for the smooth areas. No change in my spraying technique. Oh, I've since learned that styrene is better for thinning poly/vinyl based resins/gelcoats.

Look for the simple solutions first guys. Check/remove/clean/reinstall all of the wires connecting to your batteries, bus bars, gauges, etc. I had the charger in my old Sailfish quit charging my stbd. battery one time. Removed the leads, cleaned them off, reinstalled, good as new.

Unfortunately, pulling the panel over the gas tank won't give you access to check the condition of the floor on either side as the stringers run all the way to the bottom of the deck. If the deck is soft, it's either delaminated, rotten or both and that repair is much more involved than fixing...
