That's the fill for the fresh water washdown. It's been available as an option for years.

Types of Two Stroke Oil You Run: Any Probs With It?

Part of the certification requirements to achieve TCW-3 status is mixability. You can go right to Pennzoil (or any other brand) from Yamalube and back with no issues.

    Trailer recommendation for Gulfstream

Looks a lot like mine. The Owens brothers build a nice trailer. I'm on my 4th. Congratulations.

    Deka battery

WLewis, glad you found one. Place here in ATL sells them for right around $115. I think they can ship them UPS Ground too, for future reference.

Types of Two Stroke Oil You Run: Any Probs With It?

Pennzoil XLF. I've used it for over 20 years in every Yamaha 2 stroke OB I've owned. Never an issue. $17.99 / gal at Walmart all day long.

    Wiring diagram

GW Customer Care is 252-752-2111 But - You can also go on the website, register the boat to you as the new owner (a good idea as it gets you on the mailing list) and download the owners manual. The owners manual has a full wiring schematic.

Would it be Unwise to buy a 20 year-old Grady?

Mine is 18 years old. Looks and runs as good as the day it was launched. Find one that has been well maintained and enjoy it.

    Helm Seat Tension Knob

It's a Wise seat. I think you can still get the kit (handle, bushings, etc...) from GW but I may be wrong. I order my parts from Vero Marine. Last time I ordered for the parts for the Wise seats, they ran about $25-$30 per seat.

Prop for tournament 192 with 200 outboard

Was it chine walking at that speed? I've never seen a Grady hit 60...got close to 50 once with my 205 but didn't quite make it. Not going to editorialize here either, but that lanyard should probably be clipped to you and not the windshield.

    Grady 228 Repower

Have you considered an ETEC G2? Those who have them seem to swear by them.

    My budget Grady build

The first GW I ever owned was an '86 190 Tournament. It had a 150 Johnson which blew and was replaced by a 150 Yamaha VMax. That boat will be a screamer with a 200. Good luck and welcome to the family.

    Best Prop for 228?

If you are only getting 4200 you have something else going on. Is the boat kept in the water? Is there a heavy amount of growth on the bottom? Is there a heavy amount of growth (specifically junk that adds weight) in the cabin? Has the motor been scoped for exhaust corrosion? This may...

What a great forum with great people

Smoky - you were talking about Margaritaville and Spring Break. This might be of interest: http://www.discoverlakelanier.com/marga ... ke-lanier/ Lake Lanier Islands lost me when they started charging $15 to tie up at the dock....even if only to use the restroom or purchase a beverage. Too...

What a great forum with great people

SmokyMtnGrady and I go way back....don't remember how we originally got connected - might have been here....might have been on THT. Found out we grew up around the corner from each other...went to rival High Schools.... We've met in person exactly once....and it was on the St Johns River...

    1998 22 tournament 225hp yamaha

Mel - in that part of the country, that's pretty close to what I'd expect it to be advertised for given the age. If you want to travel, I'll make you a good deal on a 2000 with a 225 OX66, brand new electronics, new trailer and new canvas. And freshly detailed. Good luck with your...

    spring maintenance or not

My local shop charged me $21 last year to drain the lower unit, replace the o-rings, and refill it. Included in that $21 bill was removing the prop, greasing the shaft, checking the seals, and reassembling everything. I stood there and watched while they did it. (Yes - it was a Yamaha trained...

    1997 Tournament 225g - Whats the Skinny

You are correct.....the aux tank is behind the main tank if the boat is so equipped. My 225 OX66 burns 29 GPH at full throttle. Guessing your carb'ed Johnson is going to be about as thirsty.... Things to check? I'd make sure you can move the seacocks for raw water washdown/livewell. They...

    1997 Tournament 225g - Whats the Skinny

Congratulations.... The main tank is 92...the aux is 56. The hull length is 22'8...you've got at least 3' off the back between the bracket and the motor. It's a heavy setup....mine scales out around 6K sitting on the trailer with about 1/2 tank of fuel. Top end will be in the 40-41 MPH range.

Is a used GW with HPDI engines worth it.

The 200 HPDI is one of the best engines Yamaha made....I'd buy one tomorrow. The 250 and 300 HPDI were among the worst engines Yamaha ever made.... If you can find one with OX66s that meets the rest of your requirements, and it's priced right, I'd buy it in a second. They will run forever...
