    Fuel Additive with Ethanol-Free Gas?

For years, I've added Ring Free as well as PRI-G to my fuel, regardless of whether it's been regular unleaded or ethanol free. Knock on wood - I've never had a fuel system problem. For me, it's cheap insurance. Shop around for the Ring Free. I split a case with another GG'er and we get it from...

    Electronics mounting

Congrats on your purchase!! The e-box looks to be the same as its been since about 2001....so assuming that's the case, you can fit one 12" screen easily, or 2 7" screens. KY Grady has 2 HDS-7's in his...he probably has a pic or two he can post....

Advice needed with f250 on a adventure 208

My 208 had a 200 OX66 and it ran 43 MPH so something isn't right here. Are your observed speeds via the Yamaha speedo on the dash or are they via GPS? Post some pics so we can see where your motor is mounted...it may be too low. 5800 RPM at wide open is right where you want to be.

205 & 225 Freedom no longer on Grady site

Hulls have changed. GW is moving toward euro transom - built in dive platform style. Not sure why the 205 was still around anyway. At one point the 185 and 205 sandwiched the 192 which was discontinued for a few years. Then the 185 was discontinued and the 192 returned.

Pumping gas out of a fuel tank

You are better off removing the fuel sending unit on the top of the tank and pumping the fuel out from there.

    Adventure 208 Bimini tie down

My 208 had a pair of snap studs installed on top of the cabin. My bimini cover (boot) had two straps sewn into it. When the top was folded down and the boot was installed, the two straps would snap to the snap studs.

    Opinions: 2000 Adventure 208 vs. 1993 Explorer 245

It really comes down to this - do you want to be in the water this summer or do you want another project? The 243 sounds like it needs some work...the 208 can be in the water quickly.

268 Islander (Red liquid from rod holder)

Does your boat have the gunwale sink? Is it possible that during the winterization process, they ran a red colored antifreeze through the lines and out the faucet? If this was the case, you may have a nicked line and still have the antifreeze inside. If not this, then I'm stumped......

Question for 180 or 185 owners

I owned a 180. When I first purchased it water would come in through the scuppers if two of us were standing in the stern. I replaced the flaps on the scuppers and that solved the problem.

Yamaha ox66 250 HP WOT 4900 @35 MPH. Is this normal?

29 Gallons per hour if you run it full throttle. You CAN install a fuel flow motor....two different ways to do it but it depends on what you have for electronics. If you have a GPS/FF that is NMEA 2000 (N2K) you can add a fuel flow sensor which goes in the fuel line and connects to your...

Yamaha ox66 250 HP WOT 4900 @35 MPH. Is this normal?

The max RPM range for that motor is 5500. If you are at WOT at 4900 something is wrong. A couple things to look at: 1.) Assuming you are trimming the motor up a bit? If I bury mine all the way down, I too will max out at 4900-5000 rpm 2.) What kind of shape is the bottom of the boat...

    Say good bye

Not surprised the 225 is going away.....the introduction of the 215 and 235 (and the built in platform/euro transom) rendered the 225 obsolete. It's had a good run...13 years in its current configuration.
