    Fuel Tank Pad Material

I was fortunate enough to get 32 years outta mine. Probably pure luck, but I'm happy I replaced it before it started leaking. Wishing you the best on your project!!

    Fuel Tank Pad Material

You can view my saga here: https://www.greatgrady.com/threads/1987-228-seafarer-aluminum-tank-and-fuel-lines-replacement.27425/#post-169215 I trusted Paul who custom fabricated a new main tank for my '87 Seafarer to give me the best advice for my installation. Neoprene thickness I do not...

    transportation question

What a stunner!! Congratulations, love the clean hull. I paid a father/son team $3,500 to haul my Seafarer from Maryland to Reno. Peace of mind is so important with these things......

    Fuel Tank Pad Material

Just to clarify, closed cell neoprene is not rubber. It does not contain carbon that can damage the aluminum over time. It also adheres better to the tank is what my fabricator told me vs something that is plastic. You want a good grip so the tank stays in place when it's full and you come down...

    Fuel Tank Pad Material

Closed cell neoprene is what I used. I purchased mine from my aluminum tank fabricator. Use 3M 5200 for securing the material to your coffin. Patriot Marine Fabricating~Paul Spisak (609) 693-5542 You should google David Pascoe for installation tips. And of course good luck! Here was my layout...

    Salt Away?

Luckily I did the yearly fluid changes at my house so no biggie. I keep the 100 gallon tub in my home garage.

    Salt Away?

Interesting thread. I used Salt-Away after each use in a fresh water highly alkaline lake for a year. Then my check valve for the wash down system on my Honda BF200 got stuck from the alkaline deposits. My mechanic told me to use vinegar instead. When I ran the motor in a 100 gallon tub with 6...

Replacing the Halogen Indirect Rope light in 330 Express

This happens all the time to me as well. If you can trim them down by editing on the phone or desktop, it usually works. Just a bit of a PIA when trying to post multiple pics. Great lighting FYI~

    Gas tank senders

You can call Grady customer relations, give them the year and model of your hull. They will email you a diagram of your 2 tanks. You can then take the depth of each tank, subtract 1" and order new senders and gaskets from WEMA/KUS It's not difficult, providing you can get the existing senders...

    Thru Hull Hose Replacement

Well I say kudos to you all that have endured!! I used to think that Grady should have thought ahead and make all of thru hulls these accessible for replacement, and then it occured to me that they are in the business of making great boats and selling them, not in the business of making life...

    228 Seat Upgrade

Hey man, you are always here helping the community out as best you can! Not sure the year the industry abandoned the old footprint, but it's all good my friend. Pretty sure the new frame will not detach as it is 13" which is half an inch longer than the underneath seat cut out , so I hammered...

    228 Seat Upgrade

So, seems that older Grady hulls had a larger width footprint on the original swivel frame. I did some digging and the original manufacturer in '86 was Wise. Called them up and person I spoke to said that slide and swivel in no longer available. I had already ordered 2 Springfield 2 7/8" Slide...
