Not to interfere with you thoughts, but we installed Lee’s Jr wishbones on our 282 and love them. 19th solid aluminum poles is just the bomb for pulling 4 Lines.

I went with the Garmin VIRB....interfaces great with our Garmin displays. No plastic case to deal with and works great

They need to be lower with all that torque. I’m surprised your blowing out with 17 pitch. We just put 300’s on our 282. Propped at 18.5 pitch and no issues. I agree that going to 4 blade may be your solution as I had a friend do that with his 300s on a 28 ft CC.

I honestly can't see how the 17" pitch would go faster. I would expect a higher WOT rpm and lower speed. I could be wrong, but 17" should have a little more bite out of the hole and slower top end for the very same motors and boat using the same diameter 15.25" prop. In the end it really doesn't...
