    Fiberglass cockpit sole soft spot

I heard that too, as a precaution I let my first layer set up with heavy scrap metal on a flat cement floor.

    Fiberglass cockpit sole soft spot

Something worth mentioning.......on all the new repair pics above the wood (or foam board) edges have been tapered and edges were filled with epoxy/cabosil mixture to allow all the screw holes to be drilled in solid glass. All my punky spots on my original tank cover looks to be started from...

    Fuel Before Winter Layup

For the last 10 years I’ve been using stabil and filling the 60 gal boat tank, then in spring I have a 12vdc automotive transfer pump and fill up my 2 road vehicles. That way nothing gets wasted and the boat gets fresh fuel in spring when I need it.

Any Gradys with a head compartment and 5,000# towing?

My 19’ Tournament one time weighed in at 4278....boat, motor, trailer, half tank of fuel, kicker and fishing gear. The 2016 4Runner I use is adequate, tows good but wish it had more engine. I tow quite frequently sometimes 800 miles round trip (Lake Ontario) but mostly 100 mile trips locally...

Anchor Away ( Yes I mean AWAY)

I know it’s a little late now, but I’ve heard Towboatus and Seatow will help get anchors unstuck if they are not on other calls. IIRC when you are on anchor downwind they use another line with a large slip a ring around your anchor line, the second boat heads upwind and the ring slides down to...

    2 stroke oil

I’ve used the Yamalube in the past, but converted several years ago to Pennzoil XLF and Pennzoil Premium Plus. Not sure I’ve noticed any difference between the two Pennzoil products but my 150 2-smoke likes them. Seems to run better.

Special approach to cutting through the silicone holding the floor panels in place

I also agree on the GE Silicone Almond, it’s a perfect match. The tape trick is worth the time to make it look perfect too. Here’s pics of my tank lid, was a little punky but wet inside all the wood, I redid it all with expoxy, cloth and wood squares. Most of the water intrusion was at the...

Who here uses and/or has a checklist?

I have four fingers to my checklist.....batts on, 2 straps off and 1 drain plug in. That said I usually forget the plug once a year so it’s nice to get that over with early in the season.....I just tell my buddies I was testing the bulge pump.....lol

    Do you use Ethanol free?

Usmm1234 I hear what you are saying about ethanol but some of us don’t have a choice. Like Toothpick said it’s not for sale here, the only non ethanol avail to us up here is in quart containers for small power equipment from TSC, Lowe’s or HD. FWIW I have been a boater for over 50 years and I...

    Sending Unit for Tournament 192

Just for reference, my 1992 190 Tournament has a factory gas tank of exactly 9.50” depth at the sender port. My local Grady dealer sold me a 8” a few years ago, but would’ve been happier with a 9”

    1984 Tournament 190 Gas Tank

Not sure on an 84, but my ‘92 is 9.5” of height (original tank). I opted for an 8” gas gauge sender a few years ago, 60 gal tank.

Keelguard Colors to Match Hull? Size for 180?

Mine was originally installed by a previous owner, I had to replace it because i slammed the trailer when I first bought the boat, the keelguard took all the hit but eventually peeled back from water pressure under the loose front end. And to my surprise the previous owner did cover up some...
