What seastar seal kit do I need for my 1992 grady seafarer

http://continuouswave.com/whaler/reference/teleflexSeal.html Check out this link, it shows replacing the quad ring seal. It also lists older shaft dia as 1.00” (quad ring size 214) and the newer shaft dia at .750” (quad ring size 210). You should be able to find that seal at a good local hyd...

    Fuel tank project is complete

My 19’ tank cover was spongy, pulled it and found the wood inside cover was wet and some rot. Had to strip the core material out and replace using epoxy, mat and wood. It’s rock solid now and only supported by the outside rim where screwed to floor.

    209 Escape transom cap replacement

With the right lifting device it’s not hard at all. I used a chain hoist on gantry crane a few years ago, had it hanging within minutes, didn’t need to remove engine, left all the connections hooked up. I resealed with 3M5200 but should’ve glassed it in.

    Cockpit cover???

I had a custom bow and matching mooring/cockpit cover made locally. I debated on having a zipper to remove the rear half but I was more interested in keeping leaves out from my driveway. In your case a front half cover might be the ticket...

    Adventure 1996 Still Afloat

heard a good tip for the next time, lay a piece of heavy mono in the bottom crack before you silicone the tank lid leaving two ends just barely above the deck in a hidden corner. The next time pull on the mono with pliers and it should cut the caulking. Using 3M 5200 would be a no no for a...

    Adventure 1996 Still Afloat

Looks good Ray Man, I redid my tank hatch over the winter. Mine was wet also due to water following the screws into the plywood. I elected to do the squares as I was wondering if one piece would warp strange. Ended up I did mine with one first layer of epoxy and matching mat (1700?) with...

    Vhf lesson

First thing you should find out if one of your VHF radios is up to date with the DSC (digital selective calling) functions. Then find out from the previous owner if he had a MMSI number registered to the vhf. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=MMSI+number If your vhf and first/chart plotter are...

Looks great McCann, Grady 19’s are an awesome boat for their size, lots of jealous onlookers when towing to and fro the water. Mine is also a cream puff, most don’t realize it’s age when asked.

    Hose stretcher needed,,,,,,,

New hose would be the obvious best fix, but for future reference steel plated male nipples can be purchased at your local hydraulic hose shop, they use them on hyd return and suction hoses.
