trim tabs 2000 adventure, any input?

Where do you use your boat and how do you use it? That may help decide. But... once you get used to using them - you'll never want a boat without them. All of the benefiits that you can read about on Bennett's site are dead-on accurate, so no real reason to type about that here. Personally...

    Grady side panel covers

It looks to be, at least, "solid" - meaning no holes/tears/rips? If so... clean it up real well with degreaser, a light solution of bleach/water (let that set for a bit), soap and water with a red Scotch pad. Then you can paint it with SEM vinyl paint. You could probably even use...

    87 gulfstream inboard

That would be a heck of a package in that boat. It's a little bit more money, but if your pocket book allows, put the Bravo III on there. It make a VERY noticieable difference around the dock and getting onto plane. Are you keeping the boat in the water? Salt?

I agree 100%. There are some things that Grady should be ashamed of.

Thanks for that. Undercutting the holes is a smart move.

    PSA for "GILL Bracket" owners

It's an "inspection plate" that is being used - not a "pie plate". See the original post... "the ring that the inspection plate screws into ". There's a ring and then there's the removable piece.

I haven't looked for this, but if one could get a block made out of PVC, that would allow a much better bond.

    Transom Transducer Mounting Location

I think it works decently because because of the surface area. Do you happen to know what this "modified" epoxy is? It's still going to be tough to get a true bond to HDPE, but I'd be curious to hear more about the epoxy.

    Transom Transducer Mounting Location

Generally, 3M5200 is used. It doesn't stick "great" to HDPE (the material being used), but it's decent enough. Nothing sticks really well to HDPE. Flame treating and roughening the surface helps, though. Sometimes they still pop off and damage the transducer/wiring/hull. Personally? I...

    PSA for "GILL Bracket" owners

Won't make a difference either way - it's the nuts that hold things tight, not the circle. Besides, I'd imagine it's much easier to insert it the way it is since the circle would end up being larger than the hole. Kinda hard to a big circle through a smaller hole, you know?

Seasick - I think your comment regarding caulk application (timing of it)... I actually think what we are seeing is the washer being pulled into the glass (soft core) which allows the caulk to squeeze out over the washer much more so than it would normally do. While it isn't uncommon on an...

Remove F225 Outboards with Cherry Picker

Sure! The first time you apply it, it will soak in very quickly. Come back a few minutes later and do it again. Keep doing that until it's still wet and shiny (no longer soaking in) after about 15 minutes.

Remove F225 Outboards with Cherry Picker

Vocz... another thing you could "add" as long you've got the engine off, and is quite simple... is to better protect the wood core inside the holes. Freshen it up with a drill bit and then soak the core (multiple times) with epoxy or poly resin. Poly is very inexpensive and works just as well...

Remove F225 Outboards with Cherry Picker

Yup - that will work! I didn't realize from what you wrote that you were also talking about using those on the inside, as well.

Remove F225 Outboards with Cherry Picker

Skunk... for you interior, lower holes - consider a piece of 2" or 3" aluminum flat stock, 1/4" thick. Get a piece that will extend from one hole to the other with a couple inches left over on either side. Or, "upgrade" to an aluminum angle iron of the same dimensions and REALLY reinforce that...

Remove F225 Outboards with Cherry Picker

Yup, as long as the picker can go high enough it's an easy job. It's really not hard to pull an outboard - in fact, it's quite easy. It just "looks" intimidating, but it's just one big "thing" - 4 bolts a few wires/hoses/cables and it's done.

    Transom Transducer Mounting Location

The deadrise isn't really a problem - it's really no different than any other boat. The goal of the ducer mounting is to get it just barely skimming across the surface - which, of course, means the outboard side will be a tad lower. Get the inboard side of the ducer just below the hull so it...

Replacement cockpit bolsters on 33 Express

Yeah, it seems this forum (and some others) act differently on a phone than a computer. I have found, in some cases, that holding a phone sideways will change things and make it look more like a computer.
